I'm into leather, studs and fur.....

My new kick is buying the craziest, loudest, tackiest most ghetto-fabulous, hillbilly-fabulous guitar straps I can find.
Faux fur, studded mother of toilet seat vinyl, etc. if it's fugly I'll give it a look.
Anybody got a source for crazy guitar straps.
oh yeah CHEAP is a prerequisite, and I don't want anything "classy".

Serendipity!

Hey, a strap thread!

You know, I've been thinking of designing a strap studded with Fender amp pilot light jewels. Tacky, yet still Fendery. Would probably go over well here in Nashville. :P

Hmmm......get some LED lights powered by a watch battery so they light up and you can count me in.

I did see a strap in a catalog that I liked, I didn't buy it though. I've definately not strap poor. It looked like police line tape.

I was actually hoping this thread was about stage clothes. Anybody know a good source for zebra stripe spandex??

one that mooves me

Where can I find one that is (or looks like) the cowhide off one of those black and white cows. Like the style Gateway computer company used. I saw one somewhere on a guitar. I'm pretty sure that to make it work on a guitar strap, the size of the black and white patches was smaller that on the real cows, so this probably limits it to faux coloring. And I don't know if it would even work to color real cowhide, my guess is the real hair wouldn't hold up.

On a '50s Classic in white blonde with a white pickguard, I think it would be udderly delicious.

Seriously, I saw some straps at a local store that had hair on them. I can't remember which store though. I'll check it out in the next day or so.

I was just thinking, does anybody know of the material that lights up, its sorta a fabric/electronic pad typa' thing?I have seen it on tshirts, also if you have seen the Live at astoria Steve vai dvd, Bily sheehans bass has the same stuff on it during "bad horsie".
runs on low voltage, and would look awesome on a strap...

.....

...maybe a strap with ticker-style advertising, scrolling down. A way to subsidize my extravagant g.a.s lifestyle.

I saw some in Sam Ash last week that had lot
and lots of pink, red, or purple fur on a white
strap.
Think a leather/fur/stud one with Monte Rock III's
picture on it would be cool.
