Ever pulled out a guitar that you "Forgot" you owned?

I just did. I must be getting old. I don't even own a lot of guitars.
It's a Schecter "Devil's Spine" that I bought on a whim from MF Stupid Deal Of The Day. I don't even know when, maybe two years ago.....maybe

I found this monstrosity of a Dean that I thought I sold. I was cleaning my closet a couple weeks ago, and it's a huge walk in full of clothes and skateboards and guitar stuff, and I found this Dean MLX. It was weird, 'cause I seem to remember selling it, but I guess I didn't. I've been screwing with it for a while now, and it's cool enough. Neck heavy, somehow.

I don't have enough guitars that I would forget that I owned one of them.... yet.

It must be fun to have a NGD without having to but it!

I did that once. Forgot about my old Alvarez acoustic. Had since 1985. The strings were a little rusty, but it was still in tune. Its pretty much retired these days. But I still love that guitar.

Yup!

I watched a video of "Blackberry Smoke" on the box, and remembered I have a black Epi Jr. ($35. yard sale score) quite similar to Charlie's. (It reminds me of an Esquire, packaged like a Gibbie.)

i did it just last week as well. rummaging in a closet, " what? what's in that case?" it is an old les paul copy abandoned by my son and slogged off to me. i got it out and plugged it up and lo and behold!, the pickups do a very fair imitation of PAF gibsons! and by say, sunday evening, one of these pickups will reside in the neck position of my squier standard tele.

I don't know about 'forgot', but my gretsch junior jet was bought as a stop-gap solution after someone broke in and stole all my guitars, and I never got rid of it because it's not really worth selling. It usually stays on the wall for months on end while I play my newer ones, but last week I took it to practice after several months of not playing it and was pleasantly reminded how nice it is, espcially for a 200$ guitar.

I just bought 2 CV Tele's plus I have my MIM Tele, so I've been playing Tele's for a while.

Odd this would pop up today. Just yesterday, I found one of those Michael Kelly Hybrids in a LP case downstairs. Bought it 2 years ago and forgot about it, LOL.

LOL, sad but true. I also had a guitar I made for someone else he had left for me to do something to that I found looking for another guitar. I called him and he forgot where he left it, too. Not sure which of us is worse.

But it is not too uncommon for me once or twice a year looking for a guitar for a specific reason to open up one before I get to the one I am looking for and say:

"Oh, I forgot about that one..."

But if The Discovery Channel gets wind of this thread, some of us here could be candidates for a new show called 'Guitar Hoarders', no doubt!
