i loved it, it was so much more than just a zombie film, i loved the human part of it with the breakdown and building of relationships. glad its back to the original zombie template not the silly new ones that run reall fast

Indeed

If these zombies were "new school", the show would be over already with the zombies winning!

The human relationship does make the show...any fool can kill a zombie, but dealing with the enormity of the loss of humanity and fighting for every minute of survival takes a toll, that's what makes the show, IMO.

No follow-up? Was everyone as disappointed as I was?

I liked season 1 for that most part. But I hope season 2 improves rapidly, I thought the first episode was a bit flat.

And it didn't help that in typical AMC style, they stuffed an extra 30 minutes of adverts because it became a hit. Really, a 45 min show stretched with 45 min of commercials. That's enough to kill my interest if the next 45 min episode lasts more than an hour.

dug it. had like 5 friends watching at the same appointed time (DVR) and we texted and made fun of the people who aren't good at fast forwarding.

I liked how it appeared they killed off the kids... nice! and the final scene was very good...

my expectations are not high for this show, so, I'm usually happy with it.

I really enjoyed the first season. I wasn't blown away with the opener, but I'm keeping my Sunday's nights clear.

***SPOILER***

I can't believe what they did at the end of Sunday.
Must have something to do with Carl and Lori.

I never will get over Hollywoods belief that the woods is a Disney movie.
I would love to hunt where B & C bucks just let you walk up to them.

Yeah it is zombies. But what I liked about season 1 was the unpredictable character/story. Things just kept twisting.

But once this episode started rolling I felt the whole thing was predictable (even the kids) and drug out too long. A lot of shallow dialogue an obvious signals reliving previous events.

I knew the boy was going to get it, saw it coming when the girl was lost, but I didn't expect a gunshot. I thought "Hey old guys with guns. That animal can stomp junioer to a pulp in about 4 seconds". I thought he would just get kicked in the head and we would wonder if he was unconscious or dead...

I enjoyed the season opener. I thought the zombie "autopsy" was a nice touch. Who would've thought they could catch a groundhog?

The herd scene was good, I like a tense quiet. The rest, as stated got a bit predictable, but, I'll still be watching the rest of the season.

I'm watching again this season. I usually DVR it and have difficulty not fast forwarding when the Zombies aren't on the screen. In general there is too much walking in the woods and soap operatic filler between Zombies. But the Zombie shoot 'em ups are good, and the surprises are good too.

i got fed up when they killed the kids off. i also dont like the fact that they hid the bleeding dude under a dead dude, thats infection surely.

i saw carl get shot, straight to the lower/chest stomach. i give him an hour maybe before he dies. nope hes ok to get carried over aload of fields.

it was good but i hope it gets better. oh and Darryl is my new favourite character. SOO badass!

oh yeah, i hate the super massive tension build ups they have. like when carl is trying to get the knives out of the pickup and when they are tracking in the woods. no real need for it to be there.
