Opinions requested on my new business card design...
What are your thoughts on my new business card design? I am told that on cards, less is more. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance... |

Yeah, you know, I like clear easy to read font for typeface. Like Arial. It's simple, yes. But you can read it easily. Get them with the graphics amd make sure they can read the important details.

To pile on, I hate the font.
I like the design...clean and simple. Put something hip and sans-serif on there and you'll be alright. I'd use the same font on the headstock...I like the "open" R's and B's.

At first, I was going to disagree and say the font looked OK to me - but then, I shrunk the pic down to the size of a standard business card, and yes it does become hard to read.
So, I'll go along with the crowd (just this once

That's why I asked. It's pretty universal on the font. I am also surprised how many don't like photo cards... I wasn't going for cheap advertising. I am not a graphic artist and marketing was not my major, obviously... Now that I have the info I need to work with, the mods may certainly feel free to delete this thread and I will come back when I re-do it if y'all don't mind... I appreciate the honest feedback!

Font sucks but a very clever way to get free advertising on TDPRI
I just made some new cards on the PrintsMadeEasy website. Really nice site with all kinds of templates and backgrounds to build your own, and the shipping was FAST. I paid the cheapest shipping, and they came in 2 days anyway (was expecting over a week). I didn't use any photos, made more of a traditional card, but in your case it's probably a good idea. |

Another +1
The text also needs to be bigger. Print a couple on some plain paper to see how it reads. Also, if readability is an issue, you can add a VERY light/soft shadow to the text, helps lift the text from the image slightly. |

Too many places to look for information. Font is wrong. Move the guitar up or down and place the textual info in the open spot together. JMO.

Font - yup. Helvetica - yup. Helvetica Black if you want to keep the masculinity.
I want to email you about your guitars and check out what you do, your business card doesn't let me. Your name would be cool too. Otherwise fine, it's a business card. If it says what you do, who you are, how I can find out more about what you do, and how I can get in touch with you if I want to buy your stuff it's done it's job. I would make the cut strings outside the tuner bend down. The way you have them will kill a Gig Bag in no time.

Thanks. I have received feedback from another forum and they universally HATE the font. I was also surprised how few people have seen (or liked) photo cards although they did seem to like this one. Here are a couple of revisions I did... See what you think... |

MUCH better. I like the top one.
Lots of folks around here have photo cards. I almost did one, but decided to keep it a similar color and style as my old one for continuity. Just used a nicer font and added some info. |
