Philadelphia TDPRI Folks
I’m planning on catching charlie chitlin’s band tonight in Rockledge at the Hollywood Tavern.
If you can make it, ask charlie to point me out and I’ll buy you a beer. Although I have family stuff going on, I will absolutely be there by midnight. |

I sure wish I could play guitar like Charlie!
A little background: Nineteen months ago we had a little shindig/ Philadelphia/SE PA/South Jersey Jam/Open Mic, and I had the pleasure of hanging with Charlie and a bunch of other local TDPRI musicians. Last night I had the opportunity to catch Charlie’s band and was pretty much stunned by his guitar prowess and the ability to make everything (guitar playing/singing/leading the band/connecting with the audience) seem effortless. One other thing, it hit home just how cool TDPRI is! I mentioned to Charlie that this internet thing is pretty cool when you’re able to become good friends with someone, even though you’ve only met them in person once or twice. marshman … you’re up next – see ya soon! |

I didn't catch your post in time Joe, plus I had prior plans, but thanks for sharing anyway. Hopefully next time. And yea, Charlie is very good.

Since we haven't had another jam, let’s go with a plan B.
How about someone … anyone ... pick a bar or pizza place (w/pitchers of beer) … just pick a date … like Thursday February 14th … or the 21st. Maybe if we got together once or twice … we could all go and crash a Marshman gig and really have some fun. @ Mr. Burns: Do I owe you a congratulations/do you owe me a smoke! Congratulations! |

I saw Charlie last year in Wilmington at the Blue Parrot, both with his band and hangin' with a bada$$ Harp slinger...always a good time.
Charlie is inclined to either a) play 100 miles away from me or b) play on the same night I gig. Stinker. Oh, and he stole my keyboard player. Not really...couple of the cats in my band decided to "take the holidays off' a couple years back and he found another gig while they were lazing about. To be honest, I think he seems more at home with Charlies' band than mine, but he's an absolute whiz and could probably play anything.

Where Rockledge is is more or less irrelevant, as this thread was started about 16 months ago.
According to Charlies' band website, their next gig in in Philly http://www.blueplatespecials.net/schedule.htm

I can see myself sitting back eating some of them apples you grow … you and I know how beautiful Pennsylvania is that time of year, who knows ... maybe some folks would make a road trip … I know of a few awesome places to camp near there … Maybe a little builder focused … For you folks reading this, think Lancaster/Gettysburg … just beautiful country If you’re into it, I’d help out and toss some cash to make it work! |

Or February (remember the last jam) Why October 5th … believe it not, it’s the first Saturday that work’s for me …. and, more importantly …. your apples will be ready … And, I play in a bar band and my original Band … Highly Canadian is starting to gig … Summer – play a weekend or two at Wildwood … Saturday in September … I’m hanging at the dock of the bay in Wildwood … payments for opening , closing and being Joe the Plumber for a relatives shore house The ball is back in your court … just pick a date and start a new thread …. When folks are interested … and it gets close … PM them the particulars |

Cool! Annapolis is very cool … I was there a few years ago on business … left the family there while I went to Easton. I wanted to check out the brew pub on the main drag that has big name acts. |
