Yes, i'm not a doctor, but i imagine on a daily basis your feet and teeth probably suffer the most punishment. Therefore treat them to some custom made Jermyn Street shoes and a Harley Street dentist. You decide which way round.

What really sucks is that by the time anything I buy needs to be replaced, it's next to impossible to find anything equivalent... and the stuff that is considered "high end" by then is of such a craptastical level of quality that it would have been considered absolute garbage when I bought the previous stuff.

Interesting that "coffee" has come up so many times. I, too, am happy to spend a little more for locally roasted coffee that is wonderful to drink, and miles ahead of anything you can get in a can.

Another interesting question would be, what are you NOT willing to pay a premium for:

Gasoline (driving a 17-year-old Nissan, so high octane would just be a waste of money)
Clothes (I try not to buy Walmare shirts any more, but regular department store stuff is usually fine)
Amps (I'm sure top-of-the-line boutique amps sound terrific, but these days I'm more about "personality" than "pristine" when it comes to sounds... and that goes for guitars and pedals as well)

"What do you value enough to pay a premium for?"

Knowledge

and the wisdom to use it properly.

YES... Maybe it was Starbucks or something... once I learned what coffee was supposed to taste like... Arabica beans... there was no going back. $8-9 for a little bag? WTF... I can handle a buck a day...

Pretty much everything..but
I buy almost everything second hand, I have very few possessions that have not come from thrift shops, rummage/yard sales or the used rack of shops that have such a thing. If I do buy new it need to be at least 50% off. I hate store brands from places like Wall Mart (I rarely shop there) I stay a generation or two behind on tech and reap HUGE savings. Broken doesn't scare me and scratch & dent is your friend. I also enjoy fine dining, quality shows, exhibits etc. but I watch for specials, pay what you will etc.
I have never made more than 10K a year but by following the above, I have the lifestyle of some one making 5-6 times that.
