Yet another baritone question! Help!
I know there's been a lot of talk lately about Baritone Guitars. I'm considering buying a Schecter Hellcat VI. I'm gonna test drive it on Friday. Pictures look very cool, Harmony Central reviews are all positive. Anybody have any experience with these? I mainly play country and I'm looking for that kind of growly sound found on many Johnny Horton records.
Here's what I'm looking at: http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...ellcat-VI.html |

Could be cool. The 30" scale puts it into Bass IV territory, more than tic-tac baritone. I think dano lipsticks are perfect for baritones -- it's the classic bari sound.
You can pick up one of the danos on ebay pretty easily. |

I picked up the Schecter and .....
It is cooler that I thought it would be. The guy I bought it from, had it strung with baritone guitar strings and tuned to A. I'm going to try to grab a set of Fender BassVI strings (.25 thru .95) tomorrow. I'll then tune it to standard. Sounds great the way it is, but I really wanted it for Bass VI use.

I am building a baritone guitar (very slowly, I'm throwing in allmost everything I have in my parts bin. I made the neck from scratch and screwed up my first fret job, so I'm fretting it again)
For 6 string bass stuff, I just ordered one of these: ![]() http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/i...&cat2=&q=&st=1 Jef

I'd still love to get my hands on a Dano. I do love the Schecter Hellcat though. I can get some cool bari tones out of it as well as use it as a bass. In fact I haven't touched my Fender Jazz since I got it. Actually been thinking about trying to trade the Jazz Bass for either a MIM Standard Tele or a Dano if I could find one!
