just ordered a set of threaded inserts for the neck bolts on my Squier Affinity Tele--figure it'll be a lot easier travelling on military flights if I can break it down and pack it up.

Most recent purchase before that was a GFS Retrotron Liverpool, currently residing in the neck position.

I picked up this bad boy right here by cashing in some Ebay bucks. I installed it a few hours ago. I can't wait to plug in my Les Paul and see how it enhances my tone. The writing on the package has me totally amped about my purchase!

"No other replacement part retains the original integrity of your Gibson guitar. With the same unyielding quality demands, Gibson's Original Equipment "Bench Spec" replacement parts are the only direct replacement parts to protect your investment. Each part is guaranteed to be a direct replacement for your instrument and meet the original warranty specifications of your Gibson guitar"

I bought a Boss ME70 to replace the bazillion other pedals I have. All the other pedals, minus my old Rat (takin that one to the grave) are now going to be sold off.

I got my Les Lius last week from PGS. Works great with my AC30! I highly suggest checking one out!

I just got a Vox VT40+ amp from Musician's Fiends.....it's a replacement for my trusty Vox AD30VT, which I basically wore out after 500+ gigs over the past couple of years. Something digital burned out, and at $250 to replace the whole shootin' match, not worth fixing.

In the years since Vox came out with this line of amps, they've really upgraded the list of features, including giving the model I like a major overhaul...more power, more amp models, lots more effects, better interface...the new amp is a little monster with tone to spare, and programmable for gig presets.

I get compliments on my tone at gigs all the time...people see the Vox and nod their heads wisely...I've never had anyone, musician or otherwise, tell me it sounds like a modelling amp...must be the tube (12AX7) in the output circuit.

Cheers!!!

Mike

I bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute, Gold Top of course! I picked it up in March, and haven't bought anything since.... not even strings!

It's got a lovely two piece back on it too. I was surprised at the build quality, based on a lot of the Gibson QC trashing that goes on around here (and some other forums) I think I managed to sneak away with "one of the good ones"

I've recently acquired another Telecaster (April) and another amp (June). The guitar is a very nice MIJ TL52-US described and pictured in this thread, while the amp is a unique Peavey Classic 50 in a custom 2 x 10 cabinet; more info and photos here.

I put threaded inserts in the Tele I fly with a while back - Makes it easier to break the guitar down, and I never have to worry about stripping out the screw holes!

Most recent purchase - a Wampler Paisley Drive, used and cheap on Craigslist. Should arrive today.

Howdy,

Major gear purchase: Dr.Z Carmen Ghia head w/ matching 1x12 cab in '09. Most recent minor gear was last month: an EHX Hum DeBugger from Shreveport Muisc. Works like a charm when it comes to reducing 60 cycle hum.

Just picked up a used Guild CO-1C in perfect condition for less than half the street price. Not a great strummer but a killer, small bodied finger picker with great pickups and lots of tones depending how you pick.

Wasn't looking for it but it really stood out. A contemporary mate for my 72 F-48.

Since I last posted in March, things have improved. In the last few months besides strings I bought a Zendrive, a BBE Green Screamer and an '80's Peavey Backstage Plus amp. Then a friend who runs a thrift store gave me an MXR Distortion +, A Cry Baby 535Q Wah Pedal, an Ibanez Tubeking USA and a DOD Bass Overdrive, all non-fuctioning missing knobs or other parts. I've since got them all up and running. Looks like a second pedalboard is in order. I'm going to throw some cash his way for the gifts.

And I got the neck finished on my Esquire-clone "Twang-Master" and after final assembly this guitar sings! I love it. So it's been a good season for gear. Now I have to get some gigs to make it worthwhile.

Six "Fender Vintage Style Tuners" from Active Surplus in Toronto. The box was hand labeled like that, so I don't know if they are actual Fender "Vintage style" or "Fender Vintage Style". Either way, they looked great for the $20 I paid.

Now, what I need is time to build the rest of the guitar to put them on.

I traded my beautiful, but uninspiring Koa Alvarez AD60CK cutaway acoustic-electric for a MUCH less beautiful, but MUCH more inspiring Wechter Pathmaker, even up at the legendary Atomic Music in Beltsville, MD-a couple of months ago.

One of the best trades I have ever made, the Pathmaker is a fuglly beast, but it's the best sounding electric acoustic I've ever owned or played-plus it is butt-EASY to get a great plugged in sound with it on shows! I still need to tweak the set-up to be totally to my liking, but the 3 pickup system is real hard to beat, I can't believe Wechter stopped using it.
