That would be me Fuzzy, I havent played steady in a while. I really miss it. There is something about that amp at your back, the smell of them tubes burning and all them people out there dancing. Good times.

Wish you were here Fuzzy...

....I'm opposite. For the first time in my nearly 42 years of life, I am playing in a band! There are actually quite a few cool live venues here in the Springs for rock, blues, and C&W. I feel really lucky, as it's a dream come true for me to be playing in a good band, making a little money, watching the hotties tear it up on the dance floor.

We were recently voted (in the Independent, a local weekly newspaper) "best cover band" in Colorado Springs (tied with another band, "Martini Shot").

Our band is "Head Full Of Zombies," we do primarily 80s/90s dance rock (The Cure, U2, Ramones, Clash, Violent Femmes, Weezer, stuff like that) and we have a blast.

Count me in too Fuzzy

I know it's only been 3 weeks since I played my last gig, but when you've been doing it every weekend for the last 15 yrs or so.....3 consecutive weeks of not doing it, is a long time.

I just keep telling myself "You get to play again starting Dec. 4th." and that keeps me, somewhat, sane.

I've been out of the loop for almost 18 years. Talk about jonesing! I left Cleveland right after getting married back in '87, headed to Maine to raise the family. Haven't played a gig since. I lost my wife 2 years ago to cancer so now I'm bringing up the young 'uns solo, leaving very little time for anything else! Since my son started playing a couple years ago, I got the bug again and been buying some guitars and polishing up my chops in anticipation of someday hitting the road again.

Gotta play live

Hey Old Fuzzy, you Telecaster Master...I laid off of live playing for about 12 years, thinking I was too "serious" with career and family things. Big mistake. It does not have to be "either or", and when I got back into playing, it brought tremendous enjoyment back into my life. You have GOT to be who you are, or something will burst down the road! So, now I'm out all the time with my little blues/R and B band - we have a strong lady singer up front, so I can have fun just torturing that Tele. As we are getting set up to play in some nice roadhouse, club or saloon, I love to think about how we're part of a long, long American tradition of roadhouse music, and how there are hundreds of other bands plugging in at that very minute across this great land, getting ready to have fun entertaining folks who have just had a long week and want to enjoy themselves.
But I really missed it during the time I laid off from playing, and knew that I wasn't being true to myself...
