ROLL CALL: Who's tired of Roll Calls?

I guess the board is going through a roll call fad right now. I know I'm tired of 'em. Anybody else?

Paul Green
Ps. Maybe if I read one of them I'd see the value, but I'm afraid I haven't read a one.

Actually I'm not. In fact I was keeping track to see what other "roll calls" the folks here would come up with. I was looking forward to funny ones like "Roll call: Parts-casters gone bad".

Can we keep playing? please, please, please!

You bet!

I'm tired of them. They're just taking up space on Page 1...... forcing more interesting posts to Page 2. I suggest you delete all roll calls and don't allow them in the future.

They will pass. I think disallowing them would be a step in the wrong direction for such a great forum.

Sorry, I'm late... Wait a minute...is this the roll call for people who are tired of roll calls? Nevermind, I think I'm at the wrong roll call. It's so confusing lately where I should check in-- I pride myself on perfect attendance here at the TDPRI.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb.

I answered the first one (I think it was first). Then there were a whole bunch of 'em. Kinda like good idea gone bad. 8)

Individualists UNITE!

I'm in with the anti-roll call roll call – even if it is a little bit like responding to "Okay, non-conformists form a single line here..." ;-) CS

Chris S, you make me laugh out loud more than anyone on this forum-- Thanks!

I like the idea of a roll call for people who hate roll calls. Wait a minute, the webmaster already started one!

Yes the roll calls are getting old. But it could be worse, there could be almost no posts on anything, like on the GDPRI.

My father in law is fond of saying, I felt deprived not having any shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.

So if you get fed up with them even here in the Bad Dogs, lets move it to the GDPRI! ;)

I just ignore 'em (except for this one, of course ). But they're getting almost as prevalent as "country music ain't what it used be" threads.

Actually I was just getting ready to start my own roll call asking the very same thing!

I think there are too many of us on here that could reply to many of them. It's a nuisance insomuch as it forces us to think "What kind of player am I REALLY?". The correct answer in my case is "Gee, I dunno - who's paying me?".

I don't know that I'm actually tired of them, just confused by them. Trag said it better than I could:

The last gig we played ended with theses 4 songs:
Leave My Girl Alone
Pop Country Sucks
Waltz Across Texas
Cat Scratch Fever

I've mentioned adding Beat On The Brat by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols version of My Way to our song lists. We've already added I Used To Love Her by Guns 'n Roses.

I guess I'm not a country, blues, rock, or punk player. I'm just a guitar player that loves playing what I love to play. Genre doesn't matter to me.

Dave W did give me an idea though. Is it too late to start a "Roll calls ain't what they used to be" thread?

Joel

(doggone, I have a tendency to ramble sometimes. Sorry)
