Corner Gas is killing me!

I gave up watching TV in May (don't miss it), but I like to buy my fave shows on DVD from time to time.

They just released the entire first season of the Canadian (CTV) comedy show "Corner Gas" on DVD, and I bought 3 copies .... one for me, and one each for my brother and my son who both live in the USA.

This show kills me! Some of the best subtle, sly humour ever.

I especially like the Dad character, and Brent's employee Wanda.

Anyone else enjoy this show? Have the DVD?

Cheers,
BK

yeah I think it's pretty good
I'm hoping that the show keeps going because I only see it getting better as the characters develop

I haven't seen that one yet, but my favourite lately is also Canadian - Trailer Park Boys.

    Lacey!

Yeah, the brunette character Lacey is pretty cute!

And she knows her hockey, too (the episode about the Dog River River Dogs).

    :-)

Glad to hear Corner Gas is on DVD. It's even better to hear that others love this show as much as I do.

It's a great change of pace from most of the sit coms that are on. Brilliantly written with a great cast. Recently, there was a great cameo by Darryl Sittler.

Yes, Lacy is a looker but when Karen, the cop, lets her hair down... wow.

This is the only show on tv that I make an effort to catch.

I'm thinking of giving up the tube, too. I used to work for a tv station and got my cable free (all channels, even the digital but no pay per view). Now I have the least expensive basic cable and I really don't miss it much. I'd disconnect that but in my area, you need cable to get any decent reception.

Speaking of funny shows, anyone else like the BBC show "Coupling" ?
Another very funny and brilliantly written show (IMO)

I agree. Corner Gas is a pretty funny show.

(I remember how impressive Eric Peterson was back in the seventies in Billy Bishop Goes to War - he played 18 different roles in that one-man play. The man has serious stage chops.)
