I loved it! Of course my Braves did their usual dance - the post-season choke.

As a life-long Yankee fan this is KILLING me, but I'll give it to the stinkin' Red Sox they got it done and NY didn't.

NY didn't even show up! How can you not show up for game 7? Come on?! 3 runs? You've GOT to do better than that. This is getting away from me.

Go Houston/St. Louis!!!

The stantheman Theory....

way...."way back when in 1919" The Red Sox had an owner who happened to be....A Broadway Producer. This
individual had only a passing interest in "The Game" and
needed financing to put on a spectacle that still is performed occasionally...."No No Nanette". This naive
Broadway Pinnochio sold the greatest player to ever lace 'em up to garner a "Broadway Smash" and in doing
so created "the first crack in The Dam of what should have been the true greatest dynasty in the history
of Sport
.....instead that honor went to a city initially
more known for theatrical productions that Baseball Dynasties.......
last Winter George Steinbrenner drove his mighty billfold like a wedge through The Heart Of The Red Sox
who - not being the naive ownership of the past - had found a franchise player that they felt could bring them to "The Promised Land"....it was not to be.

In doing this George Steinbrenner dislodged "The Curse"
himself...forever by "stealing A.R. in a classic swindle instead of taking the high road that Jacob Rupert had taken 84 years earlier with the naive Broadway Harry Frazee taking away B.R." The Baseball Gods just like The Umpires in Game 6 have taken it upon themselves
to forever "right the good ship Red Sox".
Hear Me And Mark My Words:
The Time Of Three Decades Will Pass Before The Yankees Return To The World Series.

...that the yankees DID show up for game 7, but the RED SOX were the better team, Lowe the better pitcher? IMHO the yankees did not lose...the RED SOX won.

I'm sure there will be many more yankee triumphs to rival the many they have already had, but right now it's us...the BOSTON RED SOX :D

Cheers!

GO RED SOX!

Twas the night to beat the Yankees
And all through the nation
Not a single sole was thinking
Of 86 years of damnation
Cause this is the year
To end our bad luck
And even if it don't
The YANKEES STILL SUCK
On Damon! On Nixon! On Manny and Kap-lah!
On V-tek! On Meuller! On Ortiz and Mill-ah!
Carry this team and make some noise
Cause everyone knows
A-rods a sissy and Jeter Likes Boys!
To the TRUE fans of BOSTON
Get a beer and a cup
And say it again boys
COWBOY UP!!
!!!GO SOX!!!

Well, the Red Sox were the better team, they were even favored to win this seires. But to be up 3-0 and lose, that is losing(choaking).

The Yankees LOST this series, but oh well. The curse is not over yet!

Like good RED SOX and yankee fans we'll have to "agree to disagree" on this one I guess Robert.

Either way you look at it though, it's in the history books and part of the lore of each team...FOREVER.

I truly feel your pain...been there done that.

Absolutely, Mr. W. I strongly disagree that the Yankees choked. The Yankees didn't choke; the Red Sox played hard, played well when it really counted, got the breaks, and won the League Championship Series fair and square.

I've seen classic choking in sports; in my honest opinion, the Yankees didn't. It just didn't feel like a Yankees choke as much as it felt like the Sox fighting to redeem themselves for the sins of decades past. (Sorry; I didn't mean to get all Grantland Rice about it. :P )

Go all the way and bring that long-awaited world championship home to Boston and the rest of New England, Red Sox!

Joel

I've been over at the YES Network forum(big time
Yankee fan hangout) and they are reeling.Absolutely
shocked & disgusted with their own team. While I
agree it wasn't so much the Yanks choked(that would
take away from the Sox extraordinary effort),I would
say it was a catastrophic meltdown.
And I'm still nursing this beautiful hangover.

I've never been a sports fan of any kind but I found myself watching the Red Sox the past few nights...

... and all through it all, I still knew they could easily screw it all up.

How does it go? Red Sox fans are so used to disappointment that they're disappointed when they don't get disappointed.

or something like that...

Just beating the Yankees is good enough for me... and I'm a former New Yawker and used to be a huge Yankees fan.

I don't think I've EVER heard of a person being a Yankee/Red Sox fan, but is now a fan of the other team. If you are a true Yankee/ Red Sox fan you will never pull for the other team.

yea it was clearly the redsox playing better
no yankee screwups
just grand slams by longed haired hippy red sox
then AGAIN as if to say why do you have this guy pitching against me still? i have his number
the yankee's were caught of guard and never got their act back together
it's also a story of how baseball is unpredictable
so is any sport
so is life

Oooom Oooom ... Harmony, a wonderful place indeed.

If your wife was born there she MUST be extremely attractive, very intelligent, riotously funny, talented beyond belief , but most of all painfully humble.

If your wife knows me, keep her away from this board...LOL!

Maybe I'll see you at Chester's (George's) sometime. I'll be the one in booth 400 with the GD t-shirt.

Now it's the Cardinals, payback is coming for my 1st Red Sox disappointment...1967!

The always Harmonius,
Fret

I will agree with Wilkes that Harmony is a nice place. I grew up and lived in Cranston untill I was 18, and have an Aunt and Uncle who live in Smithfield.

Is it cold and snowing yet? The thing I remember the most about winter was the announcement on the radio "Foster/Gloceter NO SCHOOL." They were always the first to get out of school when it snowed.

GO CARDINALS!!!!

Thanks, I got a good laugh from that, one of my ex's was from out that way, Glocester, guess at one time she was all that to me... when I think of her now though none of those adjectives pop into mind anymore 8).

Ah Robert, that was always music to my ears when I was a kid and now my kids enjoy it just as much! The drawback was we were always going to school in June long after everyone else was out.

I'm envious of your current location. As I get older and the winters seem a little colder I must say I entertain thoughts of AZ.

Enjoy the Series!!!

Yeah, it is nice in the winter here. Though it was a little cold this morning, in the 50's. It'll be beautiful from now untill May. Summer is another story. If you can make it through 110's then it's not bad.
