Tunes at the office?

I was just looking at the CD's I have on the shelf behind my desk, and noticed for the first time that there is really no rhyme or reason to my musical tastes.

They are:

The Essential Foster and Lloyd
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers- Echo
Tom Petty- Wildflowers
Eric Clapton- The Cream of Clapton
Robert Earl Keen- Picnic
Teddy Morgan- Freight
The Gin Blossoms- New Miserable Experience
The Grateful Dead- American Beauty
Willie Nelson- Disc 2 from the Box Set
Willie Nelson- Redheaded Stranger
Gordian Knot- A Midsummer Knot's Dream
Cherry Poppin' Daddies- Zoot Suit Riot
CCR- Chronicle
SRV and Double Trouble- Greatest Hits
ZZ Top- Greatest Hits
Rhino's Blues Masters Collection Volume 3- Texas Blues
Muddy Waters- The Gold Collection
John Lee Hooker- Trouble Blues
John Lee Hooker- Whiskey and Wimmen
The Black Crowes- By Your Side
The Cure- Greatest Hits (Acoustic Recordings)
Bare Naked Ladies- Greatest Hits Disc One 1991-2001
Billy Falcon- Pretty Blue World
Fender's 50th Ann. Guitar Legends CD
10,000 Maniacs- Our Time In Eden
All Four Discs of the last Woodstock Box Set
Nanci Griffith- Flyer
Iron Maiden- Piece of Mind
Metallica- Master of Puppets

I never knew I was so eclectic! I wouldn't have noticed but one of the receptionists came in, looked at my discs, and said "This makes no sense at all."

So what do you folks groove to at the office?

i have managed to compile about 10 gigs of MP3 music on my work computer...

here's what has played the last few minutes:

Oklahoma Stomp - Spade Cooley
the Wheel and the Maypole - XTC
Know - Nick Drake
Outtasite Outtamind - Wilco
Eighty-One - Miles Davis
High on Highway 51 - Aimee Mann

random music from a random database of music = cool.

i think it's kind of the norm today to have eclectic taste and a music collection to reflect it. sometimes people walk into my office and give me weird looks (i'm in the Air Force) because "Pistol Packin Mama" or "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" is on, i just laugh it off. they don't know what they're missing...

Looks like your standard classic rock/country/blues range to me.

Tell me about it, I had never heard of him before I opened for him last year, totally blew me away. Incidentally, I only had enough dough for one CD, so I asked Teddy which one was his favorite, he tossed me that one. I was not dissappointed when I threw it on about a week later. What a fantastic record.

Jake

P.S.- Since this is my thread, is this still considered hijacking?
