Ah Yeah!!! Yamaha Lord Player (Les Paul style)....

.......this mofo is BAAAAAD!

Check it out, couple Seymour Duncans in it, it rocks well. Made in Japan (80s I assume?), correct Gibson head stock. Surprisingly very light, does have a REAL maple top. Sweet axe.

I played one of these about ten years ago, and it's a standout memory for Les Paul copies. The thing had specific overtones that many Gibson reissues are hard pressed to duplicate. I tried to find that guitar and acquire it, but have been unsuccessful. Congrats on a great score. There was an article in Vintage Guitar on Yamahas recently, that included this model. I'll try and find it, and maybe we can find when it might've been built.

Pls let me know if you find that. Are you aware of the difference(s) between a "Lord Player" and a "Studio Lord?" Was the Studio Lord for US distribution? I've heard it's headstock was different (not as accurate).

Thanks, -Eric

I HAVE ONE!

And it kills any Gibson that dares to come close to it.
In fact the second guitar player in my band who owns a real Gibson LP has "stolen" it from me and uses it in place of his guitar!
mine was made in 1978
