What's your favorite ice cream?

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

Hippietim once jokingly challenged bluewatergirl to name Brent Mason's favorite ice cream. She quickly responded, "Cherry vanilla".

Mine is Haagen-Dazs Rum Raisin.

What's yours? Butterscotch, perhaps?

Even more than regular chesecake

CHEESECAKE! It's better than regular cheesecake when it's cold and creamy.

I did a blind taste test at school once with a bunch of kids... we had all Chocolate ice creams. Hagen Daaz Chocolate, Ben & Jerry's Ultimate Chocolate, Breyer's Chocolate, and Stop & Shop brand chocolate.

They tried each and rated them....

Bottom of the barrel hands down: Ben & Jerry's Ultimate Chocolate

Number One: Stop & Shop! The least expensive of the bunch and by far the best tasting. (Yes, I did it too...)

My fav ice cream though is Black Raspberry from Uhlman's Ice Cream Stand in Westborough MA.

    Chime in Guitarjonz!!!

Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Oatmeal Cookie Chunk (though I agree with eryque, they need to lose the chocolate chunks)

Those are very rare indulgences though. Usually if I'm craving something sweet I get fat-free mango sorbet.

Oh and Dairy Queen banana splits! Love those.

Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk

But not in the shower. ;-)

Rich chocolate ice cream packed with pecans, walnuts, and chocolate-covered almonds, with white and dark chocolate chunks. Or as a friend of mine is fond of saying, "Calories in calories with calories." Fuhgeddaboutit. :-\ CS

ETA: Just noticed that Lance's long string of mmmm's did to the page width the same thing B&J's NYSFC helped do to my width... ;-)

"Native Red Raspberry" from Benson's Ice Cream Stand
in Boxford, Massachusetts - all roads lead to Benson's.
"Native" is only available for 3 weeks or so unless it's a
    very hot Summer.
The rest of the year either "Mint Chocolate Chip" or some
    "Vanilla Bean".

Cookies & Cream is awesome stuff. Just awesome. Bluebell has the edge I would have to say.

Their Bannana Pudding is the best ice cream I've ever had. Flavor is exactly like grandma's old-time bannana pudding. Nilla vannilla wafers and all. It's not always available (and I don't even know if you can get outside Texas), but when it is on the shelf it's the best ice cream in the store...

I'm tryin to figure out how it's made... so I can play around with it in the home freezer. The ice cream part, I think I have an idea on, but how in the world they get the vanilla wafers into the mix before freezing and still have them turn out dry in the final product is a mystery; and a trade secret, I'm sure!

If we ever have a TDPRI jam in South Texas, maybe we could do it in the early summer and include an ice-cream freeze-off! What fun! 8)

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Culver's frozen custard! Yum. For lunch I had a hot fudge malt with chocolate custard instead of vanilla.
