Speaking of excercise II ...

Do you excercise so you can indulge in other activities, e.g. drinking beer? 8)

Or is it purely a health trip?

I'm forty and health conscious, but hey, I also like to enjoy a brew or two, or three

I try to incorporate the two, you know, the weightlifting workout that utilizes "12oz. curls"?

Seriously though, one doesn't have much to do with the other for me, I'd drink beer regardless of whether or not I had an exercise routine.

I'm getting back in shape, and lifting weights...and even adding lean musle...

But I can control my diet for the life of me. Burgers, fries, pizza, cola, beer. I eat a whole lot of food. !!!

After a 2 or 3 hour bike ride there's nothing better than beer and Mexican food.

If I didn't ride as much as I do, I'd probably weigh 500 lbs considering how much I eat.

I have to admit, I used to exercise out of vanity (not wanting to look out of shape), but now I exercise for my long-term heart health. Beer drinking has always fit in very well with my exercise goals. These days, I drink mostly Guinness anyway, so what could be healthier?

You only live once........

After I get done with a good work out I like to eat, shower, drink a few beers and plug in the guitar! It don't get much better than that!

I exercise for the health aspect and enjoyment, I haven't cared for beer for a long time now but like some mixed drinks, but don't drink enough for it to matter. When I was younger and drank more and didn't exercise as much it never affected me weight wise, and hangovers weren't so bad then either.

Exercise has always been a part of my life

I have severe asthma, so the doctors says I "have to exercise" to live a normal life.

What really stinks, is that my wife hates the fact that I exercise. I don't know if it is because she hates the result, or is jealous that I have the discipline. Then I tell her the doctor wants me to, but that isn't good enough for her.

Go figure.

I used to ride 40 to 100 miles a day and could eat whatever I wanted. I stopped and within two years, I'd gained more than 80 pounds.

Unfortunately, I exercise to keep from getting fat. I typically eat 2 of Mom's homemade banana muffins and a thing of yogurt for breakfast. Lunch is lunch- that's my meal- but I still only "eat", I don't "pig out". Supper is salad, no cheese, no meat, home-made dressing, bell peppers, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts. No snacks, no soft drinks, no beer, no donuts, no cake, no Poptarts, no ice cream. I do my 30 minutes in the "zone", 5-days a week. All that, and I'm stuck at 165 lbs. on my 5' 6" frame. I want another 10 lbs off and I'm going to get agressive on it this winter. Exercise is going up to 45 minutes in the zone.

However, I started this diet 'cause I was getting close to 180 lbs. So, 165 after a year is an improvement.
