Anybody going to the Arlington Guitar Show this weekend?

Just curious. I'm going to be there. I hope there's a good turnout. This is my first time to go. :)

There's always a good turnout. I'll be there. Be ready to spend money. You never know when you're gonna come across a smokin deal...and not have the cash on hand. 8)

I'm going to be working a booth. Hopefully I won't have too much time to check out other stuff. I need to make money not spend it. :) I'm sure it will be tempting though. It looks like there's a usually a ton of good stuff there.

I'll be there

I have been to a few of them in the past couple of years. It is a good place to waste your day by day dreaming of everything that you wish you could have.

The best deals are the attendees who carry equipment in to sell. But usually it is stuff that you still can't afford, or was not on your search list to begin with.

I might go but I would be better off staying home and doing some work around the house.

If I do show up, I'll be the big guy wearing overalls and a Fender F cap.

I need a Helicopter

I’m headed to Arlington for the “Largest Guitar Show in the Nation” even though gas is close to $2.00 a gallon. But I’ll save two or three dollars by renewing my Vintage Guitar subscription at the show.

But I need a Helicopter to get me to Shiner Texas in time for the Shiner Brewery BocktoberFest celebration with Lyle Lovett, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Kid Rock, Staind, Asleep at the Wheel and others.

I'll be there on Sunday.

I hope I don't find a nice vintage Tele to buy.

There was lots of cool stuff at the show. I picked up a beater banjo for a project, and to try to learn on.

I also got a silverface Fender Champ. :D

There was indeed lots of good stuff at the show. I went there today with a pal and ran into a dozen people I knew who put a smile on my face. Nice guitars, too.

I went on Saturday with a couple of TDPRI folks (kewlpack & skip62). I also met Johnnyatomic (sorry for dropping the echoplex - hope I didn;t break anything).

I met a few folks that said they lurked around here. But I was so fixated on gazing at the equipment, that I did not even notice who might have been walking by me.

I bought a few minor accosories. I struck a deal on a Line6 Floorboard for a real good price. But I forgot to go back and buy it before I left :? .

I did come home with a Marshall 1960AC cabinet in really nice condition. That set me back a little. But that was actually what I wanted to find there at the show. So, I checked that off my list. I notice an unusually high number of blonde Tone Master cabinets for sale. It also seemed to me, that I noticed a whole lot more vintage amps than usual. Perhaps because I am ususally looking for guitars. There were several old Telecasters there for a change. Some of them around $15K.

I bumped into all the local store guys that I know . I saw Will Wray, Rick Derringer, Mark Samson and Vinny of Vinette(?) Guitars. I'm sure there were many famous folks there, but like I said, I was gleaming over the merchandise 95% of the time.

Great show. I can't wait until the next nearby show (Austin I think).

There were lots of amps there. There was also a wide choice of inexpensive guitars for bargain hunters. The leather straps at the DR strings booth were softer than they have ever been before. My friend's bank had a computer problem, and he couldn't use the ATM. But I had a good time. Even picked up a show t-shirt for my son, the shirts looked pretty good this year. Saw John Mayer walking down the aisle, or trying to, some kids were asking for his autograph. To me, he looked like he wanted to be left alone. [/i]

John was there off and on almost all weekend. He seemed very down to earth, and every time I saw anyone ask for an autograph he was very cool about it.

Sorry that I didn't find your booth. That doesn't mean I wasn't there, just that I spent very little time reading booth signs.

Nacho - Your Picture is Ready

Nacho came from Spain to try out a '53 Tele that was bargin priced at $21,500.00. I saw one nocaster for $40,000.00. It must have been for display only and they didn't want anybody touching it. Anyway here is a rather large picture of Nacho and the guitar.

I don't think he bought it

But maybe he will report in when he gets back home.
He seemed to be enjoying the guitar though, even though it wasn't plugged in.
