what's the deal with chewing gum these days?

Remember when a pack o' gum looked like this:

now they're all dolled up in designer style packages:

i think it's just an excuse for the companies to charge more.

When I 1st saw a pack of 5 gum on a coworkers desk, I quizzed him as to why he had a pack of condoms out in plain sight....obviously I was wrong, though I still think for the life of me thats what the packaging looks like.

I just finished a pack of those 5 cobalts. Gotta throw out the trash in my car tomorrow am. I like them. New flavors, new packaging, it's all in the marketing. People want something that looks late model.

Trident Tropical Twist. Try it, and it'll be your favorite gum. Seriously, it's that good. Simple, but superb. Long lasting flavor, perfect texture.

The other flavors in the same general series are OK, I guess, but are not as good as this one. Trident Tropical Twist.

i scrounged up $1.50 from the car ashtray the other day bc i had no cash on me. i went into the convenient store and couldn't afford a pack of gum once tax was added on! i drew the line at putting a pack of gum on the credit card. sad times...
