Doubtful
I heard there was an awful lot of "in-fighting".

Go see the touring Black Keys instead. The BKs are more efficient than the BCs: only two of em! (see my signature

It's actually a rumor right now......
....that the Crowes may be reuniting. The Robinson brothers have been seen together in a few places, according to reports. Chris has cancelled the new tour with his new band, so that's only fueled the rumors more.

I won't ever say never about 'em... they're brothers... there will always be a push and pull... they can't play together, they can't be apart... the only constant will be that whatever they're doing will change...

Kinda funny
I saw Jeff Cease at a local used CD store on Saturday. He was the original "other guitarist" for the Crowes (on the first album), and coincedentally, Jeff and I worked togehter at Gibson, and he actually hand picked my LP Custom off the line for me when my employee order came through the system.
I've always like the Black Crowes, and the last time I saw them, with Audley Freed, was just about the best rock & roll concert that I've ever been to. That being said, I'd like to see them work with Marc Ford again too. As talented as Audley is, Marc just seemed to have this "sloppy soul" thing going on. It's amazing if you think about it, how long this band, Chris, Rich and Steve, have been together (15 years?), and yet how young they still are. I don't think any of them have hit 40 yet. So I'm sure we'll see them work together again. I see this period of BC as similar to the quiet years of Aerosmith. Aerosmith's best work has come in the latter years of the band's history (commercially speaking). Maybe the Crowes will get back together at some point and enjoy similar results.

Something else
Just before Three Snakes came out, I went to see Gov't Mule at some small venue in Dallas...it looked like an old converted warehouse.
But we had never heard of the opening act..."The British Communists"....??? Nobody knew who this group was...even as we began to file into the place, no one in line had heard of them. The house music went off, and the lights went out, and a huge curtain dropped off of a big prop behind the drum riser... It was a large (very large) back-lit prop of the two crows smoking cigerettes. Then the lights went on and to everyone's surprise (and delight), it was The Black Crowes! A total surprise concert! What a great billing that was...The Black Crowes and Gov't Mule! They came out and played a few songs together at the end of the night.

I've seen them live three times, the last time at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. I was three rows from the stage. It was a great show; but they were so loud that my ears were ringing for three days afterward.

I also saw BC on the 3 Snakes tour...
It was Halloween eve 1996, NYC. I had backstage access even. 8) The Crowes came out as "Jellied Donut" and were all in various Elvis garb and wigs. They did 3 songs (Teddy Bear, CC Rider, ?) as that "band," split to get changed, then came out as they normally do and did their thing. Rich Robinson had those Matchless amps rockin. I think they were a great band. I'd like to see them get it together. |

Rich has a new solo album out.
It's titled "Paper" and came out 8/24.
It features former Crowe's keyboardist Eddie Harsch and BR5-49 Fiddle/Lapsteel player Donnie Herron. Check it out! PS. Long time, No see!
