Starting the new CD tonite!

Some of you know the saga, I've waited about ten years to make this record, mostly because up until recently I needed to play in cover bands to support myself and my family, and didn't have the luxury of time for an original project. Well all of that has changed now, and I finally have a band of like minded people to make MY music with. We start recording what I hope will be my masterpiece at 7pm sharp tonite, my gear for the session will be:

'98 Guild "Blues 90" Bluesbird
'03 Kit Harper custom tele style
'03 Gibson Melody Maker
'97 Am Std tele w/hipshot bender

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
'60's Sears Silvertone head w/matching 2X12 cab
Peavey VTM 60 head w/4X12 cab
EMC G110 SS combo

Here's to hoping we can make the magic happen!

Update:

The session went very well, but very long, I got home at about 5 am, and was up at 7:30 to head into work this morning. To say I'm burnt would be the understatement of the year, but the tunes are sounding good. We got three done last night, in their entirety, and now that we kind of have our formula down, things will go faster for the remaining 7 songs.

Gear Update:

The only amp that went to tape (uh, hard disc) last night was the little Silvertone. The little heap freakin' rocks!

In addition to the amps I brought, the guy who owns the studio had a Marshall, a Super Reverb, an AC30, and a Boogie set up. He agreed, the Silvertone kicked the snot out of all of them. Just goes to show you, sometimes the best solutions are the simplest ones.
