Have they stopped making the....

Guild Bluesbird? I've looked at the Guild website and they do not list them anymore. I've always had my eye on one, but probably can't get one unless it is used or maybe a holdover in a music store?

The Bluesbird is not currently in production. They are fabulous guitars though, I have a '98 P-90 bird, and it is quickly becoming my number one piece. They are fairly easy to find used, and usually are in very good condition. I check e-bay regularly, but so far haven't come across another one with P-90's.

Yea,it's true, seems FMIC is more into getting Gretsch
going than properly dealing with Guild.
Have you noticed the import series?.....cryin' shame!!

Ya, that's too bad. I guess I'll have to look for one a little harder being that they are not in production anymore. I'm a little shaky at buying something off of Evil Bay, because you never know what your going to get, plus its nice to have something in your hands to see how well it feels and plays before you buy it. 8)

One thing you should be aware of, if you buy sight unseen, is that these guitars have BEEFY necks. I like big necks, the bigger the better, but not everyone feels that way, so I thought I would let you know.

Have any of you compared the Bluesbird to a Les Paul? What are some of the pro's and cons of each? I've heard that the Bluesbird has more of a brighter tone to it. I would love to have ether, but it seems every tom, dick, and harry has a LP. 8)
