Nashville 'must see' bands on 7/31, 8/1???

I am going on a vacation next week and will be in Nashville on the dates above. Any 'must see' bands either/both of those nights? I am staying in a hotel about 1 mile from Music Row. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks,

Doug

From 6-10 wed-sat night you can check out the don Kelley Band at Roberts Western World. On some occasions Johnny Hiland sits in, but I'm told their regular player is also a fine player. Theres a handful of bars all in a row, no cover just listen till you find something you like. Pick up a copy of the Nashville scene and see if anything stands out for you.

Stacy Mitchhart at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie

In Printer's Alley.

Stacy and Blues You Can Use are the house band, literally playing something like 6 out of 7 nights a week. Great horn section, hammond organ, etc. Stacy's a great electric blues guitarist, but first and foremost and entertainer.

Definitely worth checking out.

There is also a club 1 mile south of Broadway Called 3rd & Lindsley
that has good entertainment. Take 4th ave. south and cut over left
to 3rd and follow it to the corner of Linsley. It is on the left and on the
corner.

Otherwise check under entertainment in the Nashville Scene paper
or visit their site at

I agree with Don Kelley band.....great show. You must be at the Embassy Suites.....nice place.

Also check out the Bluebird Cafe. Acoustic entertainment in the round by writers mostly... sometimes artist. They have a web page with calendar. You often need reservations depending on who's there.
Surely you've seen the TV show on TNN(?) Monday-thursday @ 11:00pm.
Enjoy

Thanks for the suggestions!

Saw Johnny Hiland with Don Kelly on the Satruday I was there. Johnny was being photographed for a guitar magazine article, so be on the look out. He was phenomenal. If you live in Nashville see as much of him while you can. I lived in Austin and saw Redd a bunch, but now that I no longer live there, it wasn't enough! I was also impressed by the amount of music played in town. I was walking around Sunday morning, taking pictures and Robert's was open with a couple guys singing. I thought that Austin had a lot of music. Great trip and thanks again.

Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie is CLOSED

I just found out from my buddy who lives in Nashville that the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie bar in Printers Alley has been closed... so much for my previous recommendation. :(
