one chord songs...

Lately I have been mesmerized by some one-chord songs. The one that rattles my brain the most these days is "Get the party started" by Pink, but there are others out there...

Would you call the Macerena song one chord, even if it "backs" into a V chord for rhythm?

Post your favorite one chord songs here.

Can think of a couple

But first off, let me qualify this. I'm a geezer, right? Never heard Pink that I know of. I never listen to commercial radio. It was yonks before I ever connected people running around going"Ooops, I did it again" with Britney Spears and a I still don't know who let the dogs out BUT, I've often been in jams on "Gloria" and one on my faves "Spoonful" I know there are a couple of more, but I've got CRS (can't remember sh*t) disease.
Cheers, Jack

sort of

Chains of Fools - Aretha Franklin

Mainly a vamp in Bm, although you gotta hit the vocal "ooh - oohs" in the break to make the song

Doug

come to electric avenue

and let me take you higher
Obnoxious semi-reggae tune in the 80s, I never sat down to figure it out (I never actually LISTENED that closely), but me thinks it a one chord wonder.

The only one I can think of is

Shotgun by Jr. Walker & the Allstars. There's some variation on the E chord, but it mostly stays the same through the whole song.

"The Story of One Chord" by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper tells a story about a one chord song using 2 chords. So I guess it doesn't count. But it is a fun song anyway.

Keith Urban...

has a hidden tract called "my one chord song" on his golden road album I believe. I dont know which song its after, but I know you have to wait a while before it starts playing. Its pretty humorous. :D

How about that new Beastie Boys songs "Check it out", or whatever it's called. Just the same chord over and over again with breaks in between.

Just about everything James Brown was involved with from the late 60's through the mid 70's. Some of the greatest music ever recorded.
