Any artists on here?

Music and art go hand in hand. (IMO)

Who does both? I've been drawing seriously for about 3 years now, and painting for about 6 months.

I'm interested to see what you guys have, especially seeing some of the guitars you guys have made

I have a lot of paintings, but I haven't really gotten them online anywhere. You can check out http://www.on3pskis.com, I do all the graphics for a small ski company. (Mods, feel free to remove if you consider this advertising, but he did ask).

I studied painting at the Sir John Cass School of art in London and Photography at the London Institute. I'm a professional photographer and rarely paint or draw any more but my work is very much influenced by the language and history of painting.

Nice work!

I dabble w/ photography and web design, but I'm always impressed w/ folks who do fine arts.

I hold a fine arts degree, but I've been holding a guitar more these days...

I'm a freelance artist/illustrator. I've done murals, designed T-shirts, posters, cartoons, custom caricatures of people or pets.

I made a living as a designer for over a decade (portfolio at coreymilner.com) -- to me it's all the same thing. Music, writing, art, etc. at some level they all merge. I encourage everyone I know to make the connection. :)

Nice work!

Thanks for the link ibobunot.

I did my apprenticeship as a "Graphic Composer" (a qualification that doesn't exist any more ! ) so text and page layout were my stock in trade.
Just as I was finishing my "time" was when computers were coming into the trade in a big way (around '82 - '83 over here.) I always seemed to be just "out of step with the industry - although I was in it for just on 25 years.

Love your work guys.

yes. i'm a high school art teacher, an i paint a lot in my spare time...

these are from a series i've been working on on and off for--gasp--almost 10 years. they're based on bad photographs...i could go into the "statement" behind them, but i'd rather just let you see the visuals...

these are all originally about 5 feet square...i like to work big.

Does this work for you? This one is all electronic ,no paint.
I have a background in fine arts, mostly watercolor, and was a graphic artist before everyone with a computer became one. Quite some time ago I designed T shirts for a living.
These days, I paint every now and then, but mostly I build guitars. It is my way of melding the arts together.

Thanks, I've finally realized simple fonts work the best. I'm a big fan of "Impact" which is a graceless font, but simple.

I studied fine arts and architecture at the University if Utah. I have painted since high school, but I let it lapse after college. I have recently jump-started my work using my photographs, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as my media. I paint on the computer as I would using acrylics and water colors and pastel crayons that were my original media. I'm a painter of abstract landscapes very much influenced by the French Impressionists.

I have been into professional desk-top publishing almost since it was invented using Adobe PageMaker and Indesign with the other Adobe graphics programs. I also do computer mapping professionally. These professions keep me in the graphics realm and in the computer programs and techniques necessary to keep the artistic talent alive.

I've recently damaged a nerve to my right hand and may, or may not be able to play guitar anymore (really screws up fingerpicking, which is all I do), but even though I'm left-handed, I play guitar right-handed, so the injury doesn't effect my artwork and I've just started to do watercolors again after a period of almost ten years. Maybe this is nature's way of telling me to go back to dong what I'm probably best at, which wasn't guitar-playing.

This is my tattoo. I don't have the original drawing anymore, but my tattoo artist reproduced it exactly on my back. (I LOVE boxing, if you can't tell.)

monfoodoo, your trike rocks.
I have been learning to draw better in cad but am not to your level yet, maybe someday. I could learn more than a few things from you for sure.
