how would you feel if Fender . . .
sold out? or went under altogether?
i'm not normally one to spread rumours or even listen to them, but . . . i have heard from people who know the music business very well that Fender is making some desperate moves. their feeling is that Fender as we know it is on the way out and that it will soon be owned by a foreign conglomorate like Hoshino (who owns Ibanez and Tama). so how would you feel if Fender went totally overseas? or just quit for good? would a Tele still be a Tele??

Cooper, If a Tele is made on Pluto
it's still a Tele...I think Fender's diversity is so extreme
it may be hurting the sales of so-called "Core Instruments".....My question is: Are they REALLY the manufacturers of ALL those solid state Amps....I mean ming ya they got a "bunch" to say the least.... (hey....shhhh...I think "the bad thread" is DEAD).

If Fender ceased to exist, a Tele would still be a Tele, regardless of the name on the headstock.
Some of my favorite Telecasters are say "Fernandes", or "Tokai" on the headstock. I think of a Telecaster as being a style of guitar rather than a model of a particular manufacturer.
