Anyone modded one of the SX SST 3/4's?

I thought about getting one of these and putting a Filtertron in the bridge. I have never played a shortscale guitar, but I thought it might a fun guitar.

Anyone done anything similar? Opinions?

I bought a powder blue one last year. It was a great guitar. Tuners worked but needed to be replaced sometime, and I had to file the fret ends. The only other thing I did was put on new strings. The setup was fine out of the box. Quality about the same as my MIM Squier.

Pickups are standard size, they would not be hard to replace.

I donated it to a school this summer. Now I am waiting for the 3/4 Teles to get back in stock. Jay says they are due in around the first of the year.

Carl, I have read the specs but it's hard to picture the guitar in my head. How much smaller is it than a standard Strat? Is the body any thinner (they don't list that spec)?

Thanks

It may be a bit thinner than a standard Strat. The 1 1/2" nut makes chords a little more challenging for a sloppy player like me, but I never noticed it on solos. I used it in my arm chair with no problems, can't play a standard guitar there at all. On a stool or standing, it was the same as a standard.

My granddaughter made off with my 1/2 sized acoustic and now I really miss that SX. I may not last until the Teles come, might have to get the short scale SST ASH Natural.

The "Douglas Peragro Traveler", further down on the same page as the 3/4 scale SST, has a wider neck at the nut. More expensive though....oh heck here are the specs...

It also has that horrific new Rondo headstock though :( . The SX 3/4's still have the old headstock till the stock runs out.
