An Esquire weekend with Arlo

The wife and I spent this past weekend in Portland, ME hanging with Arlo West and his lovely new wife Yvonne.

Unfortunately, it poured most of the time we where there. Rained so damned hard we took a cab to the sushi restaurant two blocks away and still got soaked between the cab and the front door of the restaurant!!

But I did get turned on by Arlo to a new sushi delicacy, DEEP FRIED SHRIMP HEADS! And they actually tasted pretty good! Or maybe it was just the sake telling me that.

A quick picture of us with the Esquires.............................

Arlo, great time buddy!! We'll definitely be up again soon!!

I believe that Arlo did get that pickguard from El Dorado.

And thanks for the compliment on the Gretschquire!

There was a pretty extensive build thread posted here on that one but when I went back to look it over I realized that I'd moved the photos in my Photobucket account and they were no longer showing on the thread. If you're interested you can find them here....................

http://www.reranch.com/reranch/viewt...bb718e1ed75cfd

The short version on it is:

Douglas fir body
Warmoth maple neck w/ ebony board, gold fretwire gold horseshoe string tree
Gold hardware (Gretsch knobs, etc)
ReRanch Orange nitro finish
Tru-Oil/SM Vintage Amber finish on neck
Don Mare Triple tap Stingray pickup (Buchanan wrap/6.0 ohm/8.3 ohm)
.047 PIO cap with .001 treble bleed circuit
Pickguard is a clear Esquire guard back sprayed with Gold and has a custom Gretsch inspired "Gretschquire" logo
