John 5 - Behind the Nut Love

Pretty cool stuff. Some cool licks at the end, too.

Good stuff. My fave behind-the-nut noises are with backwards-raked harmonics sus2 and sus4 resolutions to a major third on G, D, and (sometimes) A triads.

Both of those videos prove that I need to practice.

Boy I have a wicked story about a nut and a trip to the emergency room.

Both "E" strings are down to D, right?

Well, these John5 videos you guys have been posting lately are making me start to like that guy. Guess you can't always judge someone by their looks, huh?
Seems he's really got some roots.

You know, on some other forums I frequent, I won't dare click on a thread named "behind the nut love".

I think he's got the strings tuned to an open E chord.

Thanks for posting this. I'm trying it out (and creating great divots in my fingers!). I've tuned to an open D.

Don't really know this guy, but the only other instance of John 5 playing I watched on YouTube was of him doing "Young Thing" by Chet Atkins which I liked a lot. Seems like a sweet boy with a helluva lotta tattoos. :-) :-)
