Beatles Love Show
Hey All,
I was just in Las Vegas on vacation and my wife and I went and saw the Beatles Love show. The show itself was great with the iterpertations of songs magnificintly performed, lit and staged. If you can you should see it. However, the coolest thing for me of all was when you enter the theater and sit waiting the music playing is Beatle tracks without the vocals. These are the much talked about re mastered tracks with details, unheard before, loud and clear. Ringo's famous lack of bass drum in earlier tracks right there solid with Paul's bass tracks. Guitar details I never heard. tambourines, single note organ or piano lines... brilliant stuff those lads. Tracks like Rain with those churning grinding guitars and Paul's great bass line as a counter point against Ringo's very sophisticated drumming. I'm Only Sleeping with the hypnotic pace, so laid back it's almost falling over, then there are backwards guitars snippits popping in and out before the "solo backwards guitar" Hey Bulldog, again, lots of guitar over dubs, cool solo as well, great, great stuff.... if you're a fan. After the show I went to the retail Beatle Boutique there and ran to the CD bin that of course had all the new re mastered albums, the making of's etc. so I went to the counter and started to ask, " When you walk in the music playing is the tracks without the vocals"........ The words were barely out of my mouth and the sales folks said, " No, I'm sorry those tracks are not for sale". Of course, I thought, that would have been too cool. At any rate the show is great and hearing those tracks was yet another level and way to enjoy that wonderful music. Gary |

If you thought it was great the first time you saw it, go see it again. The last two times my wife and I were in Vegas, we saw the show. We couldn't believe how much we thought we "missed" the second time we saw it. I recommend it to anyone going to Vegas as one of, if not the best, shows I've ever seen.

The missus and I saw this show in July. A concierge screwup at the time we booked our reservations led to us getting what had to be the best seats in the house. The music, choreography, costuming, direction, acrobatics, inventiveness, etc., were breathtaking. Probably the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Best ever band of my era ... nobody what anyone says!
And I don't care if it's a cover band! Long live the Beatles!

A friend of my (who's been playing guitar for Heart for a couple of years now) send me the coolest thang a couple of months ago - four wave files that were supposedly created from the four-track masters for Sgt Pepper's. Load them into a digital audio recorder, and you can pretend you're George Martin. It IS interesting to hear all the little stuff that's going on in the background.

The show is easily one of the most popular in Vegas...but, been here three years now and still haven't made it down to the strip to see it though...
Maybe for the holidays I should get down there with my wife.
