For some reason all of a sudden I can't drag songs from my general Itunes music library into my individual playlists or Ipod. I can still move them by right clicking on the song and manually choosing the playlist, but it won't show the Ipod playlists and dragging is quicker and easier. I am using a Mac with the latest version of Itunes. Any help would be appreciated.

1. Are these songs you've purchased from the iTunes store?
2. Have you doublechecked to make sure that you can play the files in question, and that you don't get a message that the file can't be found?

Thanks for the reply TikTok,
I am unable to move any of my songs, including ones I've purchased. All the songs play just fine. I am just unable to drag them into a playlist. They highlight and drag with the mouse, but they just bounce back into the general library instead of going into the selected playlist.

weird!
you shouldn't have to, but have you tried dragging them with the "control key" held down?

or
maybe restart the computer, maybe a glitch???

i haven't had that problem but iTunes 9 has been a glitchy pile "o" crap for me.
The video playback starts and stops or just fails completely...

Are you trying to drag songs into a "Smart" playlist?

Is your Ipod set to sync? This would prevent it.

yeah, if you're dragging into an iPod playlist, unless you have it on manual, you can't do that.

But you should be able to drag to an iTunes playlist (not a "smart" one as already suggested).

Weird.
