Check out this "Vintage 1957 to 1963" Strat...

Thank goodness I don't have an affiliation to this seller!

Link worked for me. Much to my regret...

I think it's what he says it is. I'm glad he wasn't fooled by the headstock. I don't agree with passing vintage Fenders off as Squiers....

Hmm, one spring in the trem cavity? Probably for that played-in "vintage" feel...

It's amazing, in this, the so-called "information age" how ill-informed some people are... and they have a computer!!!

At least it's not going for sky-high money...

Wow! It's one of those extremely rare late fifties Squier strats! It even has a Dean Markeley string package label stuck to the top so I'll never forget what strings I use. Now THAT'S clever!!!

.........damn..... he doesn't ship to Canada...... sigh.......

Its a Squier plain as the nose on my face it says Squier right on the headstock.

Lets say your going to sell something and you know nothing about it like this guy.

Wouldnt it be logical to go to google type in Squier and try to find out a little about what you have instead of just making stuff up?

This guy needs an education on guitars hahahah.

Re: those 18........................... doofuses, doofi?

I would hope most of these people fall into the category of non-musicians who see a 1950's Fender Strat on Antiques Roadshow on TV going for megabux and have a kneejerk reaction to an eBay auction with a purported old Strat. That reaction being - dollar signs in their eyes. In other words, the "mental" process in their head is: anything Fender = Big Bux!

Do ten minutes of online research to verify it? Nah! I mean I would hope they're just non-players who think they're gonna pull a fast one and get a steal from a dumb seller.

Bidding's only up to $255. I would think most of the bidders realize what it is, but bid anyway because they like the looks of it. I'd be surprised if it goes much higher.

That's a fotoflame body, no? If it's all fotoflame, 250-300 is about right for one that beat.

With over 71,000 transactions and 100% positive feedback, you'd think the seller would know what he has.

More proof anything can happen on ebay.

I dont get it hundreds of people get ads pulled for saying untrue things in the subject line and here is a guy who tells all lies and gets 5 x's more than the guitar is worth?

I think we can call this one dumb and dumber.

The guy that listed it was dumb and the guy who got it was dumber.

i cant beileve some poor soul paid 550 bucks for this....

On a related (sortoff) story,
today i found a "american standard strat on CL for $450. what a steal i thought. but it came with a gig bag. "why would a american standard not come come the matching case?" i thought. I went to go pick it up, and i looked at the bridge on it, and the word "squier" popped into my brain. I hit one chord on it and knew. It was a squier affinity, with a changed logo. I told the man (who was twitching rather abnoxiously) "dude, this is a squier strat." He said "what?", and started to change the subject to system 2 bridges on 80's strats.
I luckily didnt fall into his gypsy trap.

Well, I'm just SO glad that he tried to do the right thing there.
