Guitar Slim!
I would like to comment on the late great Eddie Jones, otherwise known
as " Guitar Slim ". I know he played a Les Paul, but i thought he was a great singer & player. Michael Bloomfield said in an interview that he was one of the few post-war electric blues guitarists who didn't blatantly copy B.B.King. Anyone else a fan? |

Slim was THE MAN!
Great singer, great guitarist. I always liked the quote from Art Rupe about "The Things That I Used To Do": "That's the worst piece of s#it I've ever heard in my life, but I'm gonna put it out anyways to see what happens...."

absolutely — not only his pioneering overdrive sound, but dazzling showmanship for that era ... he would dye his hair to match the wild-colored suit he was wearing that night, and walk around the room (and sometimes outside) with a roadie paying out his hundred-foot cable.
Slim met a blues-cliche doom, dying of pneumonia in a hotel room as a hopeless drunk ... apparently his career was on the skids, and he literally drank himself to death.
