I saw that on ESPN. Crazy! Seems like some of that might be worthy of prosecution. I know it doesn't happen often, but I do recall it happening in the NHL a few years back. These are college girls and that's assault.

Womens soccer has always been rough, as in high school a friend of mine got her collar bone broken when the player on another team kicked her when she fell down, and the ball was not near them...

That one chick who pulled the others hair was brutal.

I would have had to pay her back with a righteous elbow to the grill.

Is it me, or are guys a little more subtle with their fouls?

I should think so - a punch in the back, numerous kicks to the body of someone on the ground, a leg tackle, a kick to the head, numerous blows about the head and shoulders, and an actual throwing by the hair only got her a yellow card in the game?

Glad someone actually did something. I'd be expecting a lawsuit if they hadn't, and I suspect that's probably why they suspended her - I'd think the conference would be considering sanctions against the whole team.

How can the espn soccer analys say that a little brawling without the ball nearby is part of the game? In Europe that kind of behaviour would immediately lead to a red card.

Sanction the team, sure, but I still can't understand what official would have let even 1/2 of that go down. That's one more person who needs to be suspended indefinitely.

Absolutely. And the ESPN guy needs to change his dosage. He sees the player yanked clean off her feet by a hair-pull, and asks the other commentator "where's the line?" Read Soccer for Dummies, dummy!

Hot? Awesome? Either you're joking (in poor taste), or you need therapy. Seriously. This is violence, and being committed by a young woman does NOT make it OK.

Agreed! I have a feeling the guys posting "hot" and "awesome" were having a bit of fun, and I'm okay with that since nobody got seriously hurt. It's not really a catfight if only one of the girls is fighting, though.
I like a bit of feisty as much as the next guy, but there's a line between feisty and crazy. We all know the upsides of that kind of thing but that girl would probably smother you to death with a pillow after you fell asleep!

Being a bit anal here I suppose, but that doesn't appear to be a drop kick.
More of a side kick.

Still gets the job done, though.

She should have kicked out of the game. Sports are physical by nature and you should play as hard and physical as you can. Without taking cheap shots. I guess poor sportsmanship doesn't just happan with the guys.

The analyst never said brawling, she said jostling. I don't know much about soccer but the definitions of those two words are pretty different.

Ty Cobb would have server 25 - Life in Prison if he tried pulling half the stuff he got away with nowadays.

I really think that chick just needs some much larger chick to bust her in the chops.

Some people will never realize that violence ain't cool unless they experience it for themselves.

Bring on the East German Womens Olympic Football Team.

All you guys that thought that was cool...you have some issues yourself. Maybe thirty days in jail with a female Bubba for a cell mate would cure her!

I'd love to hear from some of Lambert's old high school classmates. I'm betting that she was a bully and a self-centred princess who threw temper-tantrums when she didn't get what she wanted.

Absolutely deplorable. My first thought was 'how could a person live with themself after behaving so atrociously?'

The Philadelphia Flyers, under head coach Fred Shero, were known as 'The Broad Street Bullies' in the mid '70s. I was a kid back then, and used to find their antics entertaining. They were one of the first teams to openly use violence and intimidation as a tactic.

Well, I'm no longer a kid -unlike the so called 'woman' in that video.

One of UNM players (#13) was a teammate of my daughters on a select travel team a few years ago. I've seen a lot of stuff in girls soccer games, but that one crosses the line. Nudging, elbowing, trash talking, etc....that kind of comes with the territory. But closed fist punching is another matter altogether. I bet that girl never plays another game for UNM.

My daughter played NCAA soccer on an athletic scholarship and at that level things get a lot more "intense". But even she said she had never seen anything that extreme and couldn't believe that the girl wasn't ejected early in the game. I can tell you this much: if that had been my daughter on the receiving end of that kind of abuse I would have been livid and done everything I could to make sure someone was held accountable.
