get a roast 2-4 lbs sear it in a med heated skillett with some butter for 5-6 mins a side.

While your doing that cut up the veggies you plan to use in the crockpot.

I use a full onion chopped 1 can of new potatoes and 5 stalks of celery chopped.

Put all that in the crockpot and add the roast on top of the veggies.

Add 1 dry package of brown gravy mix all these are about 1 1/4 oz 1 package of italian seasoning dry like you use to make dressimg with and 1 pckage of ranch dressing mix. Just pour all those in a bowl mix em all together and pour the powder right over the top of the roast.

Add 1/2-1 cup water around the sides and let it cook on low for 7 hours.

This is super easy and killer all my friends love this.

Microwave two slices of bacon. Crumble.

Grab a packet of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, any variety. Microwave for 90 seconds.

Combine bacon and rice. Eat. Enjoy. Be sure to save some for your dog.

Now this is what I'm talking about.....
I like this idea and will try it as my cooking skills are near zero.

My wife makes these small hamburger meatballs, with scalloed potatoes and some real nice gravy. It is the perfect combination of flavors. Takes her about 15 minutes and it's done, but I have no idea how she does it.

I read this thread this morning and since you've never led me astray before I figured I would try it. I picked up the stuff this afternoon and just tried it. Very nice! I love me some quick easy bachelor food.

This is an old family Superbowl dish called El Pato.

1 small can of El Pato chili sauce found in the Mexican Food Section.(I use the yellow can)
1 Block of Velveeta mystery cheese.
1 white onion(I use onion powder instead because I like a smooth texture, but minced onion will do fine)
Garlic to taste, fresh minced or powdered.
1-2 pounds of ground beef.

Brown beef with onion and garlic(I add the garlic when the beef is about halfway done so it does not burn)

Drain grease if necessary(lean ground beef may not need to be drained)

Cube up the Cheese and add it to beef over low heat

Add El Pato chili

Once cheese is melted it is ready to serve, I add sliced jalapeno.

Serve with sliced french bread. I like the heel of the bread because I make a bowl out of it.

Meal fit for a Trailerpark King!

Get a few chicken breasts, cut them quite thin.. around 1 centimetre per slice.. Get a cast iron pot and cook the slices in there with butter. Get some yellow onions and cut them into fine small pieces. By now, the chicken should have gotten a cooked surface. Throw the onion inside and let it get a golden tone (The way you want your maple necks, ya know?). Then get some cream.. Or, alot of cream if you want. And some soy sauce. Season with the soy sauce and pepper. Let it cook so that the chicken breasts start to "thread up". Now you should have a brownish chicken cream delight. Eat it with rice or pasta.

Real easy to cook.

One of my staples... quick and easy... macaroni and cheese dinner with black beans and corn.

Macaroni and cheese dinner - the kind with the packet of cheese sauce. Boil a pot of water, and add the pasta. Drain the liquid from a regular can of black beans (I rinse with water a few times), drain the liquid from a regular can of corn. Put the beans and corn and the cheese sauce in a 3-qt casserole dish and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes. When the macaroni is done, drain and stir into the casserole with about 2 teaspoons of black pepper and a little salt.

This would feed three or four people, but I am a cyclist, and I eat the whole thing at one sitting.

GETBENT: Your roast recipe sounded so good I had to go buy a crock pot and ingredients yesterday. I forgot celery so I'm substituting carrots. Should be done by the time we get back from golf. Can't wait.

JKINGMA: I made your White Trash Casserole last night and it was really good. Would have been better but I forgot to put the tater tots in until it was already half baked (d'oh). Gonna be great as reruns I think.

Keep 'em coming guys, I'm trying to keep a hungry 12 year old fed and he gets tired of my regular cooking.
