movie review: House of 1000 Corpses

this is the most disturbing movie i've ever seen. including the Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs (my favorite), and Three Men and a Baby. :) Rob Zombie has completely outdone himself.

the only reason i'm up posting this message at 4 a.m. on Mother's Day is because i'm scared to go to sleep. if you love scary movies (like Texas Chainsaw Massacre) then this is for you. if not, never ever EVER see it.

1000 Reviews

Yeah, thanks for the review. I love a good horror movie and was jazzed to first hear about this one. Then I heard a bunch of horrible reviews about it, mainly that it wasn't scary but stupid, and I decided not to go check it out. Hopefully, it's still showing around here. I figure that if anyone could make a good horror movie, it'd be Rob Zombie.

well, it's full of cliches and completely predictable. but it's playing on the typical horror movie. it could easily be a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, just with more of everything. actually, it's sort of like a cross between TCM and a Rob Zombie video.

i wouldn't call it scary. but it was definitely disturbing.

i thought The Ring was great! just a good ol fashioned ghost story. i've heard the Japanese film Ringu is even scarier.

We saw "GhostShip" a little while back, and even though fairly predictable..not a bad show.

"The Others" was another of my favorites.

Sid Haig Rules!!!!

I thought the Captain Spaulding character was the best. I am pretty sure Rob copped the name from a Marx Brother film.

We might have a song in a low budget horror film. We are still waiting to find out if it makes post production.

Hey Astro - I hope you get it. My old band had a song blaring behind a fight scene between Kristy Swanson and Sandra Bernhardt in the supposedly-not-straight-to-video classic "Lover Girl," and it was a trip. We ended up making $50, but they re-mastered it so it actually sounded good.

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN-Quentin Tarrentino

I always wonder who the band in the bar is---utterly cool sounds. The movie is not half bad either....

I am pretty sure that the band is The Cruzados. I used to have one of their records. It was pretty good.

If anybody has seen probably the lowest of low budget early 70's horror flicks, you will remember "Invasion of the Blood Farmers." I was just a little kid when it came out and my Uncle Bo did the musical score for it... he was so embarassed by it that He even used his real first name(Joseph) and modified his last name from Eurell to Burell, so the credits list "Joseph Burell" as Musical director or something like that.
Easily one of the stupidest movies ever made... I'm sure they must've parodied it on "Mystery Science Theatre 2000."
Hey good luck Astro... hope the movie comes out and they use your tune!
