Guitarfetish Hofner style trem

I'm looking for an inexpensive trem and ran across this http://store.guitarfetish.com/vistsumowhba.html
Does anyone have any experience with this trem? Is it a good one for the money? (at $20 it doesn't need to be perfect) I also like the simple look it has http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-5020611...7_2073_5521965 Thanks,

I've never come across this kind of trem but the "proper Bigsby sized trem spring" looks much flimsier than any Bigsby spring I've ever seen.

Simple and reliable surface mounted tremolo . . amount of detuning similar to a bigsby. If you're ok with the lookof it, the function will be no problem.

I have had one for 4-5 mos.

I plan to put on a project baritone.... to use to pull up (a la a bender) either the G or B.
Will have to replace or cut the current spring.
Appears to be fairly solid.

Wow, I'm amazed to see this old trem for sale.
I still have one from my very first electric guitar from the 70s.
I too have been thinking of putting it on a Tele to just bend the B or G string.
can't decide which Tele I can sacrifice though.

please keep us updated with any news, Doug and Birdman, or anyone else for that matter.

Supposing that our Teles are girls . . well, i'd go for the G-String.

Btw . . did i already mention that i love tasteless jokes as well as groaners?

I asked about this vibrato a few years ago, and consensus then was that it was, well, crap!

Just sayin'...
