Ok, I tried to hijack another one of the 3 bolt neck threads going around.

My apologies to the OP of that thread.

Anywho, the gist of my question was: I have a friend with a 73 Strat in serious need of a refret.

I suggested he simply look into getting a replacement neck and sticking that on, keeping the original for sentimental and/or resale purposes.

But, it looks like all the aftermarket ones are strictly 4 bolt.

Am I wrong about that?

And, if not, are there workarounds using the three bolt plate that won't degrade the guitar's value?

Warmoth will make a 3 bolter but you will have to swap the hardware.

Seems like any neck that hasn't been pre-drilled for 4 holes would work.

Get a Fender reissue neck from Reliable Fender.
Its an e-bay thing
or just have the stock neck refretted
Should be about the same $$
