RIP Carl Ballantine

character actor/comedian Carl Ballantine has passed away. he's best known for playing the scheming Ensign Gruber on the old series "McHale's Navy"

he also had a wacky magic act that he performed in Vegas for years. in addition to about a billion guest spots on TV shows back in the 60s and 70s.

That's a shame.

I remember him as a comedian BEFORE McHale's Navy.

By the way, we was a seaman, not an ensign.
