King of the Blues Contest

King of the Blues Contest sponsored by Guitar Center is on.

Finals are on October 21st. A good friend's son Josh Gooch is one of five finalists, a home grown San Diego boy and very impressive for 18 years of age.

The other finalists are,

Roosevelt Collier (Kissimmee, FL)
Kirby Kelley (N. Dallas, TX)
Dan Peters (Morton Grove, IL)
Graham Whitford (NYC).

My vote's for Josh but good luck to all the finalists, quite an accomplishment!

If you guys know anything about the other finalists speak up, they got to be good to have made it this far.

I actually did this this year. Lots of good players turned up. I won my prelim round, then got beat by one point in the store finals by a close friend.

It was very good vibe. Stiff competition, but all of the players were on the whole, pretty supportive of each other. Lots of comraderie, not really any ego stuff. It was fun, and I'll do it again. I only prepared for a couple of days for the store final, and not at all for the prelim. I'm hoping to get my paws on some of the prizes next year!

Cool stuff Jakedog, winning a prelim round is an accomplishment in itself! I got a chance to see Josh's prizes yesterday that Gib Custom shop ES 335 was sweet.
