Yessssss........

SC was out gunned speed-wise on offense, good O O-line play, and excellent play calling by the Ducks.

Conquest....not.

Yeah now if they don't loose to Stanford, Arizona St, Arizona, and Beaver (in the Civil War) we might get to go to the Rose Bowl which we haven't done in 14 or 15 years when Rich Brooks was the Head Coach.

Heh - yeah, you're riding that one as far as possible, and I sure don't blame you. Want a rematch?

I wonder how it'll all shake out if Boise and Oregon both win out. I have to think strength of schedule will count for something, but it's hard to argue against "unbeaten."

There's NO way the voters/computers will allow BSU to stay ahead of Oregon. When the Broncos beat Ranked Team X we always hear "Wow, I guess RTX wasn't as good as we thought" (and RTX drops out of the polls), then when RXT goes on and wins we hear "RXT has really improved; NOW they're as good as we thought!" Yes, BSU's schedule is weaker than a lot of the bigger schools, but they still tend to beat the bigger schools when they play so (gripe complain rant grumble).

In spite of everything I'd like to see OU beat everyone but UA (since I'm from Tucson).

True dat.... BSU gets one impressive win every 1.5 years or so, most often on the blue carpet.

I think the Broncos do have a good team, but would like to see how that record would look against the Big 12, Pac-10, SEC etc week-in and week-out. Methinks it wouldn't be an undefeated season every year.

Pretty scary look at who my Hawkeyes could be playing...if they get by Northwestern, Ohio State (at OSU), and Minnesota. And if they do, they'll likely get unceremoniously spanked/embarrassed by a very virulent Oregon team, like almost all Big Ten teams do in the Rose Bowl. It would help if Iowa could get healthy (they're down to third string running backs and receivers) and develop a consistent offense. Stanzi at quarterback can look brilliant and inept at the same time. They still have 3 conference games against 3 very tough teams, one of which is Ohio State...'nuf said.

Yep your right but believe me, Boise would like to be in a BCS conference. We need the legitimacy that a good strength of schedule will bring us.

System's kinda rigged though, ain't it? I think it's well past time to change it to some kind of playoff system. I hope they do it soon. Not holding my breath though.

Hawai'i went unbeaten two years ago - beat Boise State for the WAC title - and ran into Georgia in the 2008 Sugar Bowl, lost 41-10.

We were at the BSU game in Aloha Stadium. Warriors were delerious.

2009 Oregon
2008 Oregon, Fresno State (#21)
2007 Oklahoma (#10)
2006 Oregon State
2005 (only 9 wins, but none of them "big"; it was humiliating)
2004 BYU, OSU
2003 BYU

They've also lost a few, but do have the best winning % of any school in the last 10 years.

I've lived in a few different places and most years I'd be more than happy to put them up against the Pac, the Big 10 or 12, or Notre Dame. But what can they do when neither of the two other regional conferences (Pac-10, MWC) are interested in inviting them to play? Of course, if they moved up they'd also have access to "BCS quality" players so maybe they'd just get better.

Nice list! Let's take a closer look, shall we?

2009 Oregon
Impressive win, especially considering how good Oregon has turned out to be... with that in mind, do you think if BSU travelled to Autzen Stadium this weekend, they'd win that game? Not me...
2008 Oregon, Fresno State (#21)
The Oregon win here is impressive, especially since it was away... Fresno? #21? Maybe so, but they were 7-6 this year and it was on the Smurf Turf (you'll see this as a theme)... sorry, not that impressed.
2007 Oklahoma (#10)
One of my favorite games ever, awesome win. But then again, who doesn't beat the Sooners in the post-season? Most other teams beat them badly.
2006 Oregon State
Good win... again, at home
2005 (only 9 wins, but none of them "big"; it was humiliating)
2004 BYU, OSU
Both on the blue turf... BYU? 5-6. OSU? 7-5. You point to these as quality wins?
2003 BYU
4-8? This is a "big" win?

They've also lost a few, but do have the best winning % of any school in the last 10 years.
...and I'd argue the combined quality level of their opponents has something to do with that.

Hey I like Boise I really do... but it is hard to take a team real serious when virtually every year they play a one-game schedule. I would like to see them in the Pac-10 or at least see them play a more "national" schedule just to see how they'd do. I'd be pulling for them.
