Fox fetch

I was playing fetch with my friends retriever this morning.
When I threw the ball to my surprise two dogs ran after it then I noticed the other dog was a fox. It had been standing right next to me and appeared to want to play and it ran after the ball.
Then the dog chased it away. It really was a beautiful little animal.

Do you think this fox had been someone's pet? Were you near some woods?
That's a cool story.

I think that is really cool.
I don't particularly like foxes, racoons, coyotes, or skunks as they all kill pheasants and grouse.

Awesome!

I'd love to play catch with a fox.

Very handsome animals.

One of our neighbors had a wild fox coming in to sleep beside their dog in its kennel. They seemed to get along very well.

And here I thought this was going to be one of those "how to use guitars to get girls" threads...

Gary - that is their job! They were designed and built for that purpose, it's all part of the great plan don't ya know.

I had a fox steal one of my golf balls on a remote golf course years ago ... and here I was going to putt for an eagle! Little weasel! hehe

I think there was an eradication program on the east coast back then too. Some kind of rabies outbreak involving foxes and the government of the day decided to kill them all. A shame, they are handsome looking animals.

a friend from London told me they are so common there that they are just considered pests. But to me it's still a thrill to see one live... I think I've only seen 3 or 4 in nature for all my days.

Many years ago a fox came up to my family and barked at us and ran away. A minute later we looked in the valley and he came from one side of the hill we were on and his mate was running from the other side. They met up and high tailed it. Pretty cool.

Not sure I'd call them pests - but yes, they are all over the place in London. If you are out and about late at night you often see them taking a stroll. My mother regularly has them in her garden and she lives right in the city...

I think they are beautiful.

Yeah, I like them too. I see them all the time where I live, which is a rural area with lots of woods and all kinds of animals around. I saw one a couple of months ago late at night walking on the side of the road with a rabbit in its mouth - dinner for the family no doubt.

Foxes are neat animals. One came into our yard early last winter and just went to sleep on top of a small rise in the back yard which was in direct sun. Stayed there till the sun went down

Another time I was driving through a nearby town, Acton Mass., and a driver ran over one in front of me. I avoided hitting it as I went by but when I looked in the rearview mirror, another one came out of the bushes ran over to it and began nudging it with it's nose. Made me sad. So it goes.

I've seen wild foxes 3 times at different golf courses in the city.
