new practice space and amp,how about yours?

Lets see your practice space and tools. Heres mine (now)

I went to my storage and picked up some stuff and one of the things I got was my. Fender Super champ XD. I bought this nearly 2 years ago, and after only playing it for 5 minutes or so. I put it away.

Well I have rediscovered it and I am incorporating it into my new practice space(my livingroom) I have an "On Stage Stand" amp stand and my old school music stand(yes serious it was the one I used in school back in the early seventies(the early seventies no less, yea i'm getting old) here is a pic

If I develope some discipline and find some talent,I may get to where I use to play 30 years ago when I was in bands playing everyday. Who knows it could happen.

Sweet!!

color me jealous. I dig your amps. My amps are mostly the old stuff. Like the 1970 Twin and 1979 bassman 10 etc. I would love that red Z thats sweet.
and yea my place is a mess but I actually know where most stuff is. The other room. I have a 2 bedroom. One is the bedroom with a git or 2 and an amp or 2. The other room is the stuff room and the rest of the gits and amp are in there. I usually practice in the bedroom or the livingroom. I am in the livingroom now(obvious by the picture). your practice room is sweet.

This is mine... no kidding

I moved out to the country a few years back, and I needed a building for my home office and a carport, so I thought I'd add me a little music area too. Well, it got bigger and bigger, and it ended up being a 1200 sq. ft. "private club".

It's got a full PA and lights, dance floor, custom bar, and a raised lounge area. It's all set up, so all we have to do is turn everything on.

Needless to say, we've had a couple of parties there In fact, we had a TDPRI jam here about a year ago, and I think we're due for another one (still working on that with the Mrs.)

If you're ever in central Texas, stop on by for a jam!

Cheers,
Doug

Love it! That's my dream room. I've been telling the buddies and the wife that I'm going to do that someday. I would love to sit in sometime and if you can get that TDPRI jam approved, please invite me. I'll bring the relish trey. Or the Miller Lite or both.

Thanks Doug. Love those types of events. I maybe ego centric but I think that's what makes TX such a heck of a state. Lots of players, Beer & BBQ.

Very nice space! Starting with the milsurp, nice collection of amps, dogs, and a gold top. That'd keep me occupied for a spell!

Spotted the GA5 right away, which leads me to the description of my "practice area."

I most of my solo practice is right here in the bedroom with the same amp you have:

The stand-by guitars are right behind the closet door in this:

(The GreTsch took the place of the pink bass that I got in for a customer when I had my store, but she never paid and I finally got rid of it. 1 Tele copy, a P bass copy, and a J bass copy rotate through the "stand-by" rack, along with an 80s Vantage I picked up in the early 90s for $40 bucks because the pawn shop owner thought that checking was a crack! It has pickups to die for. I'm going to have to take a picture of it sometime

Most of my full band practice is just wherever we end up. I bring the GA5 and the blue Tele or Gretsch for the guitar work, and I bring the Mikro or Spector for bass work along with a 60 watt Johnson combo bass amp.

I hoped to be in the cabin we are converting into my studio by fall, but, it's probably not going to happen. The hold up is figureing out where the incoming power went! We can find where it's hooked to at the drop and where it looks like it comes in at the cabin but, there's no continuity. (no info from the previous owners) I'm going to have to borrow a tracer I guess.

Love my GA5, I'll bet yours sounds great with that Gretch!

It's usually not this clean. We just unpacked from a show Thursday. I took pics to prove it was clean. We don't use ALL the amps when we play. We're a trio. We usually pick whatever we're feeling that day and take it for a spin. Just got the '71 bassman and the 60's Bogen back from the shop. A few caps and tubes and they're ready to go again. I've really enjoyed taking the vox pathfinder along, singing through it and running the amp into the p.a. Gives a great crispy overdriven sound to the vocals.
