My condolences to you and your family. I can't think of a more noble profession than serving a community as a rural doctor.

My sincere condolences to you and your family.

You must have been very proud of him, indeed.

Our fathers define us in so many ways.

Condolences, friend.

Sadly, I can understand how you feel, having lost my dad nearly two years ago.

God bless.

My father was a Cajun boy, descended from refugees from Nova Scotia, who settled Southwest Louisiana (Acadiana). My mother was an RN. They met in an elevator in a New Orleans hospital towards the end of WWII. My father was receiving accelerated training in surgery. Fortunately for me, the war ended before he could be sent overseas. I was born in Touro Infirmary in 1946. I have been in Canada since July,2001...3000 miles away.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I remember losing my dad, he was only 58 and I was 26. It was real hard for me. Try real hard to remember everything about him.

Having lived thru this once, you and Scotland have my sympathies. Don't know what I'll do when my Mom dies (except try to with her as much as possible while I can). While you'll have your memories of your parents until you die, you lose so much when your parents are gone. Dad always had that sensible approach to things whether I was getting divorced from wife #1 or fixing a screen door or rebuilding a carberator and my kids missed out on having a great grandfather who loved them very much.
