Marc Bolan would've continued to try to jump on the latest musical bandwagons -- in his own unique way -- until the late 80s, but eventually would have become a portly new age guru, offering spiritual advice for fragile egos.

A lotta hate directed at Jim and Mama.
My thought is You Folks weren't even there.
THOSE are arguably the two best voices of the 1960's.

Jim Morrison might have left music after a few more years, having lyrically explored every sexual innuendo he could, and would have turned to writing. Eventually, he would drift into the porn industry, fascinated by the socailly outrageous work of Larry Flynt. Today, Jim Morrison would be co-owner of Vivid Video Inc.

Keith Moon would stay with the Who, until he died of something more mundane.

Freddy Mercury would still be trying to recapture the glory of Queen's 70's albums. He would also do a lot of duet albums.

Stevie Ray Vaughn would still be playing blues, but the whole "revival" has died down, so he would be playing clubs all around the world, instead of stadiums. He would do a lot of duet albums. His album with John Mayer would be a big success, but would be thoroughly dissected and criticized on the TDPRI.

Marries Meg White and lives happily ever after.
I think you mean Zakk not Zack and Rhoads not Rhodes, and also Ozzy not Ozzie. But hey you got meg white right!

Today, July 7, is Gustav Mahler's birthday, who would have been 149 had he lived.

Dimebag Daryl, Duane Allman, and Ronnie Van Zant in 2010 would've joined forces to form a Southern Metal group - Swamp Slayers.

2013 - Michael Jackson finally convicted of (insert violation here). Sentenced to 23 years of house arrest. During this time Madonna, Cindi Lauper, and Buster Poindexter visit and begin work on a worst of the 80's VH1 special which airs in January of 2014.

Very original. I like it.

However, the Guzheng becomes the dominate instrument of popular music, so much so that even the fast growing wutong tree becomes endangered.

'cause he's Ward Pike, blues typist.

The odd thing is that even if most of the people mentioned had lived, they would have had a HUGE battle with their alcohol and/or drug problems. The truth is for them to have lived they would have had to NOT have a drug or alcohol problem.

I do think the Big Bopper would have been a one hit wonder though.

Danny Gatton would be bigger than ever, selling CDs and recordings throught the internet and iTunes. He would finally be able to record whatever he wanted, rather than trying to satisfy a record company. He would be doing film scores and incidential media music (jingles, trailers, spots). He would, of course, only be doing local gigs, but these would be extensively videotaped and distrubuted throughout the world on youtube

I think Hendrix would've moved into jazz...Jazz and electronica. Think of a mash-up of Portishead, Charlie Christian, and his own brand of distorted mayhem.

It would be pure genius. Anyone knows if a band like that exists? :D

I'm shooting for that sound myself and failing miserably.

Boz Burrell, totally underrated as a player. IMO one of the best bassists ever.

LOL I think he would have ended up doing classical guitar stuff like Segovia, and gone back to teaching. Randy used some speed in his playing to make the kids happy, but it did not trip his trigger nearly as much. Or so he had said in an interview I read once. So I don;t see him going all Yngwie had he lived. But really who can say......
