With all due respect to Leo Fender and all he accomplished, you might want to correct this. Gibson started mass producing electric Spanish guitars in 1936. And although Paul Tutmarc never mass produced his Audiovox solidbody electric bass guitar, he was producing and selling it at least 14 years before Leo "invented" it.
