Kendalls...gospel album? Are you kidding?

I stumbled across this one a while back. Blew my mind. Ummmm...you think they bothered to listen to the album before packaging it?

I'm sure that to some folks (maybe in W Virgina or the Ozarks), hearing a father and daughter sing sultry cheetin' songs together, could constitute being a religious experience.

Calling The Kendalls Gospel is a bit of a stretch.

But I guess if you put Heaven, sin, or God in a song title then someone will think it IS a gospel tune.

A band I was in opened up for the Kendalls back in 1978. They were really nice people, Royce had a beautiful old Martin. Jeannie had a really big nose!

You bet they listened to it. Look how they changed the title of the last song from "It Don't Feel Like Sinnin' to Me" to "It Don't Feel Like Smilin' to Me."
I listened to the track, and it is "Sinnin'".
