Arlen Roth

I remembered him from some Guitar Player lessons from the 80's
and since I've been on the net I've really discovered how great
he is, just a fantastic tele player and all around guitarist.

I loved watching his Tooling Around Woodstock video
with Bill Kirchen and Levon Helm and the cd is great.

I'm really enjoying his blog, such interesting topics about
his love of vintage gear and touring and some really good
advice.

Arlen will be coming out with two new Acoustic CD's pretty soon.

The first is all Dylan songs -

and the second is S&G tunes -

you can check his website www.arlenroth.com if you want to know when they're released. I'm sure it will be posted there.

He's a great teacher. It'd be amazing, I'm sure, to take a lesson with him some day.

But for the time being, I open up my copy of "Masters of the Telecaster" pretty often and never fail to find something fun and interesting to play/learn.

One of my absolute favorites!

Love his multi-string steel bends in the Roy tradition as well as his tone.

These are two of my favorites:

I do greatly appreciate Arlen's music. His blog indicates that he is, as well, an excellent and soulful writer. He has given so much.

His guitar collection is awesome. I'm going to have to check out his lessons, he's been around forever.

I want to thank Arlen Roth for having Telemaster with Danny Gatton and Emily Remler's Jazz instructional videos, among others in the Hot Licks DVD series. I want to collect them all and spend the rest of my life studying them!

I thank one of his books that I picked up for re-igniting my interest and getting farther than I did playing decades earlier. Then came all the aid of computer and it was all over. I'm addicted and he helped whether it is instruction or playing.

I also enjoyed some of his Gibson lessons.

He also deserves much respect for going on with life after the tragedy that happened in his family.

I am thankful for his guitar inspiration and wish him the best.

i remember being a youngin in st. louis, going to the velvet freeze ice cream shop that had a great newstand, and getting 'guitar for the practicing musician' I believe and really liking Arlen's tips and advice...just recently I started seeing more you tube stuff and it rekindled my 'Roth' circuit and then seeing the article in vintage guitar floored me, as I am developing a major jones for Mosrite guitars and was extremely saddened to learn of what happened to his family...thankyou mr. Roth for all the great music and may much success come to you and your beautiful daughter....
