Jon Bessent RIP

This notice was in the Austin Craigslist:
" Jon Bessent of Tonecraft Amp repair has passed on. A great man who helped many a guitar player from behind the scenes. Jon loved music, and loved people. We love you brother, & we'll see you again.

May the Tone be with you.

Send prayers to his family, ya'll"

Jon passed away Monday the 22nd. He was a great guy and a great electronics wizard.

I'm shocked at this news!
Jon helped me numerous times with my amps and always gave freely.
Sad, RIP Jon.

This is very, very, sad. The last time that I talked to him he felt that he may have been improving a little bit.

Jon was a good friend and I have put a lot of his parts in my amps over the years. I'll miss him a lot.

This is incredibly sad. I always looked forward to stopping by his shop. He loved what he did and it showed. I will miss him.

Sounds like a great man. My deepest condolences to his family. I hope he's fixing Hendrix' Marshalls up there in the great rehearsal Hall in the sky!

Great guy; highly respected. A real loss to the Austin music community.

Man, I've been out of the loop and I had no clue this had happened until today. I don't know how I missed it. I found out by walking into his shop today to see only his Mrs. there with a young guy who's going to be doing some work for her. She told me about Jon and I was just floored. Heck, I still have recent eMails in my Inbox from him.

I was just about to bring my SFSR in for an overhaul. Now, I seriously don't know what to do or where to go. He was THE amp guy here, and I never bothered finding an alternative to him. Why would I? Just awful. And he was still a relatively young man.

Thanks, Jon.

Scott
