I read recently where she makes more than all the other idol winners. By a large amount. I think it said she earned $12 million last year alone.

And....She is Talented, and seems to avoid the Tabloids, which to me is quite refreshing.......

Looks kind of like she's done that before! Nice stance at the plate.

Sadly, Minnie Pearl passed away in 1996 at age 83.

looks like a Minnie impersonator! or a youngster in a Minnie costume (Mini-Minnie?)

and, yes, Carrie has a mighty fine stance at the plate. you might remember she used a bat in one of her videos:

Minnie Pearl at the ball game.

This seems to be the Grand Ole Opry team, so I think someone is playing the Minnie Pearl character...to keep the wonderful spirit alive.
Minnie was one of he first live performers I saw as a child at the Vermont State Fair in Rutland, Vermont (ca.'56-'57). Even from 100' away she was like a handful of sparklers going off.
I can't help but feel she had something to do with my love of music, comedy and showbusiness in general.

Not in the least! I am shocked, SHOCKED, at you men for such lascivious behaviour. A nice young girl like Carrie is devoting her time to help out a charity, while playing the clean, wholesome sport of softball, and you turn it into some kind of smutfest. This is just wrong.

However, if you cast your mind back to those Country Music Awards...

I'm not into automotive maintenance but..........

I'd like to "Rotate Her Tires". Seriously though, she does a magnificent job on the old Randy Travis tune "I Told You So", a definate winner in the sometimes bland pack of "new country" artists. Carrie can really sing IMHO....JH in Va.

I have never listened to a Carrie Underwood song before.

I watch her with the sound turned off though.

She certainly deserves more than a one-star thread.

She's a small town girl. I bet she played a sport or two growing up.

I'm not a huge fan of most of her songs. But I do like the Randy Travis song she's got out as a single now.
She is a good looking young lady. And even with all the cameras following her around, she has managed to stay out of trouble, which I'm happy to see.
There are more than enough celebrities providing bad examples.

When it comes to awards for good sports....I'd give her one for sure.

Yeh, she'd definitely get it.
