Just curious...
...anyone here read the book (author is Dr. Tim Lahaye) or saw the movie "Left Behind"? It just may cause you to "git your bidness straight". I've been a believer all my life, but this book really woke me up. I'm just starting on the second book of the series, "Tribulation Force" and plan to read all (12, I think) of the rest. This book brings Revelations straight into focus. And, IMHO we are living it at this very moment. Do yourself a major and (possibly) life-altering favor and check the book out. 'Nuff said.

I think we want to be careful getting into religious topics here. I remember the crowd at my high school was very into its equivalent, "The Late Great Planet Earth," in the mid 70's, about how we were all within 10 years of the end times. There have been a lot of things written about these years being the final time of Christians. Some of the ones I've read date back to 100-300 AD. I think it would be hard to find an era in which such works didn't exist. I don't know about these matters of faith, but it sure has sold a lot of books (and ancient scrolls).

Haven't read them
But here is what I thought was an interesting review in the National Review Online. Pretty negative about the writing in the latest book, but provides some interesting comparisons about to other series about the rapture and second coming.

Yeah, I know it's a sensitive issue...
...but I just read the book, was pumped about it and thought "Bad Dog Cafe" was an appropriate place to ask if anyone else has read it and what they thought about it. Not trying to force anything on anyone. By the way, Skully, if you think being a non-believer makes you a pariah try being a believer.

It's not a sensitive issue...
...it's a completely forbidden issue:
"There will be no hate, politics, religion, sex or drug discussions here." As you probably should already know. |

Hmm!
:(
Call it religion or what ever you want....but living by teachings of the Bible will make you a better person whether you believe it or not. However, if believe, then strength and comfort will you find in the face of adversity. I would encourage all to at least read the Bible if nothing else for its teachings about life and rearing children. The "believing" part will take care of itself. peace out, Shawn
